This product category deserves some research, this ended up being an exceptional deal
Short story: solidly built, visually appealing, no performance complaints from AC or USB, child/dust resistant sliding outlet covers - it’s a stupid-cheap price for something with looks, features and horsepower. if you’re looking at this product because it seems to fit your needs, just hit the “buy” button and get back to your life.Context: I’m an audio/home theater dork - for 25+ years now - and have been a loyal fan of the TrippLite Isobar Ultra line (The all-metal grown-up model), a lot of APC in the day (but at least four bricked master units sitting in the storage room not a bad batteries; prematurely fouled hardware), using a lot of CyberPower last 10 years. I also run several PS Audio noise harvesters in the stereo and the home theater rooms. How did I get to this product?: instead of just buying another Isobar I poked around the internet, read a bunch of surprisingly passionate and occasionally wildly biased articles and tests - the non-shills (the folks who conclude that every product in the roundup is great, and are happy to provide CTR links to amazon for you) who take the time to write articles are a serious bunch. Why did I buy?: Based on reported GE track record and measured performance, and a far-beyond-competitive price, I gave this guy a shot; it has been a champ all around so far. What do I think after a few months?: pleasantly surprised. No perceived AC, filter, or crosstalk effects/noise; remaining surge protection light is clearly visible. Good looking product, very well built, consistently solid and unyielding enclosure. USB dongle-thingy has a nice long cord that behaves itself, have observed rated amperage performance from USB. Overall appears to be an exceptional value a few months in. Again, it’s visually appealing. For a living area where you will be forced to look at it all the time/might be visible to guests, this has a cool, high quality, low profile appearance. Not something I personally factor in for my underground lair - big fan of the IT-department-looking Isobars as mentioned, but some people care. One minor complaint: when you mount it on the wall with logo, USB-out cord, and status lights oriented “up” you have the substantial supply cable coming out the top that does not want to stay in the position of your choice. No matter where you bend the power cable, it ends up in a position that ruins an otherwise clean looking wall installation.

Able the nurse all the plugs
I'm sure people have experienced buying power strips and not being able to use some of the outlets because they got covered up by another power plug. Well, this one has enough space around all the plugs and it offers two us USB A connections. The very first time I bought one I didn't know about it but once I used it I replaced all my power strips in my house with the same one and that's about five or six power strips. And in condition to having enough space around each outlet it offers a breaker which is great because it breaks at the power strip so you don't have to go tio breaker box and reset the switch.

Read this...
I bought this and ive been using it for about six months. I havent had any problems or issues with it. I read alot of reviews saying that it makes a loud noise, that it fails quickly, that it is basically junk. None of that happened to me, its been working fine since day one and it been on 24/7 for 6 months. One negative reviewer said his broke down quickly, but he also said he turned it off whenever not in use and turned it on whenever he needed to use it and that he did that on a daily basis...thats a bad idea people. Its not good to constantly turn this thing on and off, you are just basically wasting its life span by doing that. I payed $24.99 for mine and the price has gone up to $39.99, i wouldnt have payed $40 + tax for this unless i really needed it. The blue light on this thing is pretty overpowering in a bedroom at night time so take note of that. You can put tape over the light strips to cover that up if you want but remember that if the blue light go out then the item is not working correctly and needs to be replaced, so you need to be aware of that. Hope this helps, have a good day!

Great Surge Protector
The media could not be loaded. Would prefer the USB attachment to have a detachable cable. Great protection and nice design otherwise. Warranty protection is also a bit limited given the price (I don't think they cover lightening strikes).

It Works So Well I ordered a Second Unit. We have 2 Ipads, 3 cell phones, 3 headsets
I recently purchased the GE UltraPro 12 Outlet Surge Protector and have been extremely impressed with its performance. The tethered 2 USB ports are a convenient addition, allowing me to simultaneously charge my phone and tablet without taking up additional outlets. The 8 ft power cord allows me to place the surge protector in various locations, and the 4320 joules of protection give me peace of mind that my electronics are safe from power surges. The build quality is top-notch, and the unit feels solid and well-constructed. Overall, I highly recommend the GE UltraPro 12 Outlet Surge Protector for anyone in need of a reliable and versatile surge protector.
