As the description states: Product Dimensions: 90 x 30 x 30 inches ; 22 pounds. The widest part of the tree at the base is 30 inches. You need a place to put the tree where it's not likely to get shoved, because there's not the width to go with the height. However there are lots of places to fasten ornaments, and it doesn't take up much floor space. When decorated it looks really nice, but if a skinny tree is a problem, then pick a slightly fatter one. I have a few trees, and this one works well for my family.

Q: Ease of putting together? At 72 these can be a real pain??

My husband and I are both 72. We had no problem putting our tree together but it does take some time, especially bending down the tips to "fluff" it out. If someone suffers from chronic pain or advanced arthritis, it would be difficult to do the bending and have the patience necessary to assemble. The tree is beautiful and is the perfect size for a condo.

Q: Do the lights plug into each other, top to bottom? Or does each strand on the tree need to be plugged into a plug-strip individually?

The lights do not have plugs on both ends of each strand. They have long ends that run down the middle of the tree, so while you can plug them together in a row, if you're using an extension cord, you may feel better with a power strip. I used a short 3 pronged extension cord with a power strip & gave each strand its own plug.

Q: Does it come with a stand?

It does come with a stand, but it is not very secure. The tree wobbles a lot, and as I thought it was unsafe, I ended up typing it to the wall.
