Surprisingly handy
Test done using warm white version with energizer AA, eneloop AA Nimh, and the stock battery 14500 3.7V lithiumCell chemistry: white low, medium, high, red low, red medium (units in mA)Alkaline: 20, 240, 440, 40, 130Nimh: 20, 140, 230, 40, 150Included cell: 20, 220, 520, 50, 170To extrapolate from this the low mode will draw about 20mA from 1.2V all the way up to the lithium secondary cell voltage of about 4.0v. If the included cells capacity is true at 750mAh… it’s not going to last 45 hours. But I’ll stopwatch that eventually for real. It’s worthy to note that an energizer lithium primary (L91) has a nominal capacity of about 3500mah, and so putting one of those with some tape to prevent parasitic discharge and putting this little lantern in the Hurricane pack will actually guarantee you a 110 hour low that has a shelf life of about ten years. It’s worthy to note that on low using a nimh or alkaline will last 90 hours. Its output is lower than the normal output.. but when you’re hiking out or camping and you don’t want to or remembered to pack the proprietary charger cord… or if you lost it. There are optionsIt’s TINY, it uses 14500 lithium, NIMH, or Alkaline AA cell. The levels are evenly spaced, the burst is difficult to activate but not really useful anyway. The lock out is about the same. Once my eyes adjust the low mode can illuminate a 10ft by 10ft by 8ft space pretty well, on high I can read with it, and the glare was surprisingly low. the charger is built in and the adapter cable is proprietary, but its a strong magnet and stainless steel. I don't know why they get a bad rep. if you clean the contacts it holds on fine and charges fine. After finding out it uses NIMH or AAs I plan on ditching the charger after the included 14500 cell retires. For NIMH and Alkaline of course the voltage indicator won't be accurate. When you cycle from low-med-high on NIMH or Alkaline initially you'll find that med and high looks identical, but wait a bit and you'll find the level ramps up to full intensity. Just the circuit building up voltage. And let’s face it, Alkalines leak, the design doesn't snug the cell in there, there's plenty of space around the cell to extract it if it does. For its form factor and output its beaten a number of my bigger lanterns. Great for ultralight packs. Bought two warm whites and two cool whites, after going over to warm I find myself using the cool white ones less. Ha. Install a single use energizer lithium with some tape on the contact, load it in and throw one of these lanterns in your emergency bag. It takes up almost no space. It has no magnet built in like the Nitecore LA10 or the Fenix CL09 and won't ruin credit cards. If you accidentally load a battery in the wrong direction it has reverse polarity protection. For astronomy use its intensity is just right, kinda wish its 660nm but ahh, 630 is acceptable. it has no memory on which level you set it to, but it does have memory on which color its set to. this is extremely helpful when you're in the field and needs to change modes where if you cycle through the modes and turn it off it doesn't turn back in in white light. This "memory" stays valid even if you take the battery out and swap a new cell in. it will only revert to white if you turn it on and hold down the button. I wish all lanterns with a red mode has this feature.Peeves:the battery cover takes only a very short step before it pops open, that ledge could be longer so a child its handed to wouldn't inadvertently disassemble it. I've accidentally popped out the battery a couple times while it’s in my pocket. when hooked on a backpack it held well. Time will tell how shock-proof it is.

Great tiny lantern
I'm not too keen on their flashlights but I love their lanterns. This is their miny lantern and it's very tiny. Great for camping and backpacking. I love the soft light and the glow buttons and bottom. These have ribs that expertly diffuse the light to make them very usable and easy on the eyes. The red is nice too if you don't want to wreck your night vision and if it's in red mode and you turn it off, it will go back to red mode which is good. Only thing I don't like is it has a mag charger and doesn't take flat top 14500 cells. But button top 14500 and AA work fine. Max output is 300 lumens, but high is a respectable 150 lumens with a good run time. It's literally 4 inches high including thr hinged hanging hook. Rugged and has withstood rain. Also nice true color soft tint. I got the soft white model. All pics except the first were taking with the lantern on high, 150 Lumens.Good stuff

Excellent lantern
Just took this lantern for a climbing trip that involved a night in a tent. Very happy with the purchase. It is small and weights just some grams and has plenty of useful well thought- through features: rechargeable but can also work from a AA; three light intensities plus blinking plus can do all that in Red. It produces a bright warm light, just as expected. When turned off it stays glowing green very lightly so it is easy to locate in the darkness. The hanging clip is simple and convenient. A small item that makes life in a tent more comfortable. I strongly recommend it and will probably buy another one as a gift.

Great light output
This lantern has great light output for the size. You can recharge it, or use any AA battery if needed. I would give it 5 stars if the charging was done via USB C. Proprietary cables create to much waste.

Super bright!
As advertised - this is a very lightweight and bright light. We used it 2 evenings while hiking on the brightest setting and it definitely needed charging, but to be expected.

Light good but battery damaged beyond use.
Small lantern is fine but included 14500 rechargeable high out AA battery is crimped at bottom or somehow not flat (tailstands at angle) bottom line battery no good so can't use lantern on highest output until I buy a new 1. Ledlenser batteries cost almost as much as the lantern (on sale) so may need to return or go third party which sort of defeats the purpose of the sale price

Perfect
Very high build quality, and light quality. Works great, lasts long enough on a charge and fast to recharge, they definitely put some thought and effort into the design and it really shows.

Favorite lantern
This lantern is honestly the best thing you can have for backpacking. Super lightweight and crazy bright plus the battery life is crazy for the size and how much light this puts out
