Fantastic looking knife at a great price!
Hard to imagine that I got this knife, but for the size of the blade I couldnβt get a better price. First impression is fantastic, looks great, feels great even for the size of the knife not βtooβ heavy. It came in a box and razor sharp out of the box. Blade feels of high quality like my German forged knifes. The knife itself is not forged but it is certainly well heat treated as the blade springs back very easily back to original position when flexed. It is most certainly stamped from high quality blank, and has very fine machined surface and ground to a fine finish. The cutting edge of the blade has a funky angle as it is machine ground and not polished or honed. Either way it came razor sharp out of the box and sliced like my High End Japanese Yanagiba knife. The best part is the wood handle, I did not want to let go Of this thing once I started slicing with it. It just feels really at home in my hand. I have knifes that cost 7 times as much that are not as comfortable to grub as this one. I am not 100% convinced it is a full tang knife just doesn't feel like one but maybe it is the length of the blade that throws the balance forward of the knife. Esthetics are great, my Japanese knifes are better but this is very good. It would be much nicer if the actual spine was polished not ground but I guess for $40 itβs what you pay for. Bolster is most probably welded on but is well blended and ground to match the thickness of the blade. I hope the blade is easy to sharpen like my German knives. Really this thing is very impressive.

Cuts like butter, handle feels good in the hand
Honestly, I just needed a big knife to cut brisket, but I am pleasantly surprised with this find. Seems really good quality, blade is long enough, the handle is beautiful, and it fits well in the hand. But probably most importantly, it cuts extremely easily. Almost no effort is required to hold down what you're cutting, the blade just glides right through. I would definitely pick this up if you're in the market for a larger blade for cutting bread, or meats

Sharp and heavy duty!
Perfect for large roasts and thin-slicing London broil. Be careful, it can definitely slice your pinky off if you are don't maintain focus.

Great Knife For Prime Rib
I've never really bought a nice knife before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Last year I started making prime rib for a lot of holiday meals, and I found that my older carving knife that came in my knife set from BB&B wasn't cutting it anymore (literally). This was a recommended choice on Wirecutter, so I took the plunge and bought it for an upcoming dinner party that I was hosting.Honestly, I had no idea that knives could cut large pieces of meat so well. Before I go further, know that this is a sharp knife. It cuts really well, but it's not like some magic razorblade. I think I had a secret hope that this knife would glide through meat like it was hot butter, but you should know that it's a little short of that. It cut slices of prime rib incredibly well, and each slice was very clean. I didn't have to do nearly the amount of "sawing" that I was doing before with my old knife, and I was able to cut slightly thinner pieces with better control. The slices were also much more aesthetically pleasing. I think that for most people, this is a great knife that will likely be miles better than anything you already have, unless you're already into knives. I think that for the price, you're getting a really good deal on a tool that makes carving prime rib much easier than what you might be used to.I can imagine that if this knife was professionally sharpened, it would be ridiculously easy to slice meat without much pressure at all. I plan on getting it sharpened in the future just so I can see if there's a big difference from the factory sharpening, but out of the box it's more than enough.

Like butter... cutting that is!
What a great value! I have had this knife for some time now and use it mostly on large cuts of meat raw or cooked. It is exceptional for slicing brisket. The edge stays sharp and takes to sharpening well. Product does not stick to the blade when slicing which is a great feature. With its long length, the knife is balanced well enough and sturdy with the full tang blade. The handle is not only handsome but also comfortable. You can't go wrong here. Buy it!

Great price for a top of the line knife
This knife rocks. Super sharp, really well balanced for its size, and really comfortable to use. I use it primarily on BBQ, and it's done a great job with brisket, ribs, pork loin, even breaking down poultry. I carved my Thanksgiving turkey with it and it was a little awkward for some of the more precise cuts just due to length, but otherwise was great. This knife handles as well as most 4 times its price; I'm glad I didn't spring for something "better." I doubt it will hold up as well as my high-end Wusthofs or the Japanese knives I inherited, but it should be good for many, many years
