Japanese Hiragana & Katagana shitajiki Calligraphy Chart #830011

I'm glad I bought this. I think it's good for me to see Japanese written in bold colors, which this chart provides. It's a little smaller than a notebook page. It works well as a bookmark and as a smooth surface to write on. I've been tracing the kana in pencil and erasing it.

This is perfect for learning ひらがな and カタカナ！Makes it super easy because there is Romaji on it to help you out. Great for studying.

I agree with other reviewers - It has no explanation so not for someone who is not familiar with Japanese or in a classroom situation. That said, this will serve my purpose well. I wanted a sheet that could help me with review of Hiragana and Katakana before my travels. I have knowledge from childhood days and this will help me with review prep. i plan to practice writing simple characters at my desk with this chart propped in front of me. The characters are large enough (with English pronunciation) for easy viewing. Use of nice colors; coated paper stock; and easily transportable due to size.

This is a very compact sheet with almost no explanation. There are four blocks of symbols. Unless you are a student of Japanese with at least a month of study you will not get much from this. You need to know Haragana and Katakana and the beginnings of Kangi. This is something to be used as a reference while you are reading and writing.

This is one of the best reference tools for learning Japanese Kana. It is small, but not too small. It compacts the characters into a small space, but not too small. It is very portable and easy to use. It has been invaluable in my study of the Japanese language.
