This may sound odd, but out of all the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games I've sampled... Gates of Infinity was the best I ever played. Call it personal biased, but I've always hated the Hunger feature of the previous Mystery Dungeon games. They put too much stress on me, and took me right out of enjoying any moment of it. Plus the fact that you were apart of a Guild, doing what the "Boss" tells you to, to make money, and only getting a small amount of it, never set well with me, either.Gates of Infinity removed these problems, and made YOU, the player, the Guild Leader. It allows you full customization of your land, from setting up Berry Fields to help you through dungeons, Dojos that up the stats of specific Pokemon types for better move sets, and even Mini Games to acquire common and rare items that can be useful to you within and out of the story. The one downside would probably be the lack of the Pokemon Quiz, however I never fully liked that either. The Pokemon choices, however are lacking, but I enjoyed my play through as a Snivy, and that's all that matters to me. And while I won't spoil it, the ending of the game really choked me up. I never cried so much towards a game before, and that's saying something. It was a wonderful buy, a wonderful time, and I'd fully recommend this to Pokemon fans young and old.

A poke-fan Must, every one else steer clear of this one.
Me. I am a casual gamer who becomes disinterested in the typical linear "must play" plot most games have. Being a college student i dont have much time for video games, and i need a game thats perfect for those little spots of time i do have. This game is a perfect game for small moments of leisure....once you get past an hour or two of a slow plot aimed at children. For gamers like me, we love being able to pick a mission that requires little to no effort to complete, such as rescuing a pok&mon from the 4th floor of any dungeon. It also helps that the dungeons are never the same layout when you go back for extra missions in a particular dungeon. Love getting lost? Love mazes? Then this game is absolute perfection.Pok&mon Mystery dungeon, a must for the casual gamer.EDIT: For a hardcore poke-fan like myself this game is addicting. For everyone else: the game is slow and the cut scenes are long and mundane, the dungeons start off easy but then get incredibly hard. The dungeon i just completed had 3 12 floor dungeons plus a boss battle and the dungeon i headed to im told has the same thing except without being able to use your team.if you like pokemon, get this game.if you dont, stay away.......i heard luigi's mansion was a good play. Buy that game instead.

This game's graphics are incredible, it is by far the best Mystery Dungeon game out there- hence the price has not gone down with age. Get it before it becomes too rare to afford! They have done away with the need to eat apples to stay full, made exp split with all pokemon that you have recruited- even when they are not in your party, made moves level up when they are used frequently, and so much more to make team building easier and more fun. Recruiting new pokemon is easier too. Also- you just choose the pokemon you want to start with- no more quiz! Everyone cheated the quiz anyway, good that they figured that out.My only complaint is, perhaps, too much content too fast. You don't get to stop and enjoy what you have because every day new shops, side-quests, etc bombard you. I don't think that all the features are really necessary, but no one forces you to use them once they appear, so that's not much of a downside.
