Science and Lego, working side by side.
I have just received two series 11 Lego Minifigures in the mail today. One of them was the female scientist. The reason behind my purchase is that finding a store in my local area still selling series 11 blind bags is becoming impossible. Even the closest Toys R Us, a one-hour drive from where I live, was sold out. So far, the only option for collectors is hunt for individual figures online. You could try your luck and buy multiple blind bags. However, unless the buyer has felt what is inside the bags to properly ID who's inside, it becomes a crap shoot with that method Thankfully, Amazon.com seller Venengaia was selling the two I wanted at a great price. The female scientist is a shining example of Lego putting so much quality and detail into such a tiny figure. While reusing certain parts like the hairpiece (used by the nurse from series 1), the female scientist stands out as her own figure. The cute expression on her face to the design of her lab coat on the torso and the legs are amazing. If you look closer, there is even legible writing on her ID badge (her name is PROFESSOR C. BODIN). That is the sign of a top-notch minifigure.Series 11 is nearing the end of its run. If you're hunting for the female scientist and your local Toys R Us is still carrying them, I highly suggest you go there while time is still on your side and they're still in stock. If a Toys R Us is not in your area, I recommend looking online for her but don't pay too much. She might be awesome, but its not worth getting one for 8 to 10 dollars before shipping costs.

Great glasses and flasks!
Scientist is awesome! Love her glasses and the flasks. Note that as this scientist works in a lab she is wearing protective (blue) gloves. Some kids may want extra regular (yellow) hands to swap out when she is not at work. If this mini-fig comes down to the $4 range, would buy 50 of them in a heartbeat. Everyone needs more female mini-figs! Each mini-fig came clearly labelled in its own tiny, clear, re-closeable bag which I prefer to the opaque, one-time use Lego-issued packaging. Shipping was timely and well-communicated.

An affordable replacement for the Post-Doc
I recruited Dr. Bodin to work for our esteemed research lab because of her extensive experience, publications and reputation in the field. It had absolutely nothing to do with her gender, or that I have to pay female scientists less than the male ones, but because she looked right for the job.Besides the fact that she can carry two flasks at once which are half the size of her body, she is always smiling and comes to work with a clean, pressed lab coat each day. She is much more helpful than the Post-Doc that previously held her position. Not only can she stay in one position much longer than he could (which was an extremely long time), but she gets twice as much work done in a day than he did. In fact she makes far less mistakes and doesn't interfere with the experiments of other scientists. Also, she doesn't sing showtunes at the top of her lungs whilst pipetting, which all of us greatly appreciate. What she lacks in size she makes up for in knowledge, working in quiet collaboration with the team. Dr. Bodin is a wonderful role model for young female scientists, who I hope will follow her example and enter into the field of science. This will be extremely helpful to the progress of science as a whole because as we all know, due to the recent sequestration causing the NIH to lose $1.7 Billion in funding, women scientists will be the only scientists that our nation can afford.

awesome. A little pricey
awesome. A little pricey, but better than purchasing a bundle of unknown packages and hoping to have hit the jackpot.

Buyer beware--it's not what you expect.
I should have read the previous 1-star reviews. This is worth about 10% of the cost--certainly no more than that. It's just a few, very small, loose pieces in a tiny zip bag--not a Lego set as I had expected. Definitely not worth the money.

I love my little LEGO scientist
I love my little LEGO scientist! I am a high school chemistry teacher and I stuck her on top of my computer. I bought a different character and traded heads since I do not have glasses, but otherwise she was perfect for me. I especially love her flask accessories.

She's even better than Veterinarian Barbie
I'm a woman studying Biochemistry and I've been waiting my entire life for a female Lego Scientist. She's even better than Veterinarian Barbie, because this scientist has glasses. I feel like they missed the mark a little bit by having her wear lipstick and have perfect hair. The lab coat also shows off her feminine figure a little bit, completely negating the "progress" that we would have otherwise achieved by having a lady Lego scientist. If you're an adult looking for a super dorky present for the girl scientist in your life, don't hesitate to get it. She comes with the two Erlenmeyer flasks featured and a little black flat block to stand on.

Lego Minifigure ... Scientist
I bought this to give to my daughter (for her desk) who is a microbiologist. She loved it. I felt it was a tad bit small .. hard to tell the size from the picture. But it is very nice and my daughter was pleased.
