Excellent quality, stylish, quiet and fast
Excellent quality Kettle, looks very stylish, The lid is easy to remove and place back, making it very easy to add water. I also find it super quiet and boils 2 mugs of water very quickly.

Minor quibbles
UPDATEFirstly, our plastic kettles aren’t double skinned! I still think this kettle goes off the boil quicker, but that’s rather subjective.Secondly, this kettle is really noisy. If we want to hold a conversa whilst it’s boiling we have to really raise our voices. Admittedly, we are both a certain age and our hearing is beginning to deteriorate, but it actually sounds loud! This is probably the downside of boiling quickly!I’ve been using this for a number of days now. It arrived safely and looks very smart. It also boils quickly, which is a bonus if you make a lot of drinks! However, I do have number of reservations.Firstly, glass: I didn’t think of this before purchasing, but I don’t think glass keeps the water as hot as the double layered plastic kettles do.Second, the lid. You need one hand to hold the kettle so the lid can be pulled off with the other. Ditto when you put it back on and it’s not possible to fill it through the spout as that is quite small and would take ages. I really miss being able to pop the kettle open as I go to the tap, and shut it with one hand once filled!Thirdly, the small spout. Its pouring capacity is really quite slow and yet it’s difficult to poor out a small amount. As I say, minor quibbles, but they are what I noticed.

A brillia kettle !..but treat with care as rather fragile.
I’ve seen all sorts of reviews for this kettle..Well we have had one a couple or three months now and we love it.Firstly..in response to some of the critics…yes…it doe t look like new for more than a few days !There is absolutely NoThing you can do about it….even when clean it will never again look absolutely crystal clear …unless you have very soft water I suppose.But….it is the easiest kettle to clean in every respect. It had a lid which totally removes…great! The body is wide…you can get your hand in ..Great !You can see everything..Exactly here there is limescale build ..great !There are no fiddly bits in body at all..It is extremely simple and minimalist…so less to get dirty and easier to clean ..great !When it’s clean again it’s clean..you can see it is clean..you know exactly where the bad spots are and can go at them…Great !We have had so many kettles over the years. Despite buying good ones…stainless steel…paying good money..£50 even…they don’t break they just get limed up and impossible to keep clean. This one is a simple glass jug wirh one simple stick element in and nothing else. And lid pulls off. So…how to clean? There’s nothing for it but a ahock weekly clean or..A less frequent and more arduous clean.I’ve looked it all up and I can see that precise amounts don’t matter too much…Basically….BICARBONATE OF SODA MIXED WITH WHITE VINEGAR…AND EVEN COME OF SOME KIND TO BUBBLE UP AND XLEAN….JUST BOIL UP MIX OF BICARBONATE AND WHITE CINEGAR…REPEAT AS NECESSARY…RINSE THOROUGHLY.I ALSO HAD TO USE NON STICK SCOURER INSDE..ESSY TO GET INTO…TO GET STUBNORN BITE EHEN I LEAVE CLEANING TOO LONG..NO..THE KETTLE RARELY LOOKS PRISTINE..BUT SEEING INTO IT SO CLEARLY GOADS ON YOU TO REMEMBER TO XLEAN IT….I NEVER REMEMBERED WITH OTHER KETTLES..INDEED XOULDNT FACE IT…AND THE KETTLLES ALWAYS LOADS OF FIDDLY BITS THAT WERE MISSED BY THE DESCALER.THAT DOESNT HAPPEN WITH THIS KETTLE.I CANT RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH…FAST BOIL…QUITE PRETTY IN BLUE…BUT ABOVE ALL EASY TO KEEP CLEAN AND YOU CAN SEE IT IS !PsThe day after i wrote this review the kettle unfortunately smashed ! Literally!I clipped the over worktop cupboard by mistake…not very hard either ..and whole Keller top from spout fractured badly and broke…So…I HAVE FOUND THE KETTLES WEAKNESS ! I’m sorry to have to add this on to my otherwise glowing review…but clearly the glass is of the thinnest sort and not at all ideal for a kettle…you’d think it would be a toughened glass. At least now you can make a truly fully informed decision.I’d say Russell Hobbs should cease MADE IN CHINA and start manufacturing the same great design elsewhere.

Looks nice but not recommended.
This is a nice looking kettle with a blue light up glass jug. It boils fast but there were a few issues. The lid is design where it pulls out completely and you need to put it down to turn the tap on while holding the kettle to fill it. This for me was just annoying and became a bind. The pouring action was poor. The lip is wide and the water came out in a wide flow and was less than satisfactory. However the biggest issue: the glass jug on ours broke when being filled. It was being held under the tap and had the slightest knock on the tap as it was being removed causing the glass to smash. This wasn't done with lack of care and was actually an action which would be repeated several times a day every time it was needing to be filled. It was inevitable that on a few occasions the glass might catch the tap as it was placed under or removed. The knock was very slight and caused immediate failure. Luckily the glass went into the sink and was able to be carefully collected. After this we bought a plastic kettle which seemed a lot safer.I have had several glass kettles in the past and none have smashed. This one seems particularly susceptible because there is no rim to the jug. It is a fully glass jug right to the pouring lip and edge. This edge is what you need to carefully slide under the tap to fill. Either that or it would be safer to use a plastic jug to fill it. In any case I didn't want another of this style.

Very happy, great kettle, efficient and great service
This looks lovely. Needed to update my parents kettle. This looks lovely and is simple and easy to use for older folks. They can see how much water they are heating (so as not to waste energy) and it's mainly glass so is better for them. Obviously they just shouldn't touch the glass! Heats quickly and looks good too! Good value for a great brand.
