Lego builder in the making
The Lego Mario sets are genius! The lego itself is great as always and it’s the first time my son has been able to sit down and fully build the set himself. As the app is interactive, it means when he is following the instructions on screen he can move the picture around and shows each bit clearly. Mario interacts with the app via Bluetooth, meaning he can collect coins as if he was playing the game. The only down side I would add is that there are no suggestions for other ways of building the course but it makes them use their imagination. My son has already started a collection and this is definitely one of best toys we’ve got him.

Grandson love it
My Grandson loves it and although he's very young he was able to put it together with a little help from us, in fact I think he knew how to do it better than we did.

Quick Reviews!
When the partnership between Lego and Nintendo was first announced, the child inside me screamed and went running to find a hammer so he could smash open every piggy bank within swinging distance. Two of my favourite things coming together - what could go wrong? Thankfully nothing went wrong. But sadly I am no longer that child and while the individual sets are all wonderfully designed and straight out of a gaming nerd's fantasy, on their own they are somewhat limited. My kids of course have enjoyed building this and interacting with the App for an extra sprinkling of fun, but the toy truly comes to life when connected with other sets, including the starter kit. Given the price of each, you're looking at only the most dedicated fans or those with the luxury of not caring about money to collect a stellar batch of them. With this set you can make a particularly dangerous course containing piranha plants and a Spiny bad guy. You can set the course up anyway you like, but unless you have the starter kit with Mario your enjoyment of it will be limited. Of course if you're a collector, this looks cool on its own, but in both cases you'd want to splurge on more sets. After the collectathon that was Amiibo, do fans have the funds and money for something as desirable and wonderful as this?
