The slats are actually about 2" apart, which makes this perfect for most mattress manufacturers who require a max 3" gap in order to preserve their warranty. Unfinished means no nasty chemicals. It's been very sturdy so far, I purchased the king size. I have not found this any more difficult to assemble than your average Ikea item. I found assembly pretty straightforward. The price is great (even less than a comparable Ikea bed and they do use glues and finishes even on their unfinished products). I'm so disappointed to discover this is not available anymore, I hope they bring it back because I would love to get another frame for the guest room.

Beautiful wood put most of it together myself, but the holes for the last two screws were extremely small. Had to get somebody with a lot stronger hands to turn them the rest of the way lol

It was great for the price and the quality is good. That being said, the box wasn't reinforced properly so both ends of the box were opened when I received it. Luckily all of the parts were there. It was brutal to put together and the instructions weren't great. I'm a reasonably handy person and it was not fun. All around, I'm still glad I bought it.

This bed frame is really nice! I would absolutely buy another one from this company.The package the bed frame came in is incredibly heavy (don’t know how the UPS person even got it up the stairs to my apartment). So, just be aware of that when it’s being delivered. I did get the king sized bed frame so that may have affected the weight.Assembly is kind of confusing. The instructions are in black and white so it is not super straight forward. If you’re planning on getting a bigger sized bed like a queen or king I would for sure have another person help assemble if possible. All the pieces were in the box and it all fit together as it should.The headboard is fairly small but I like that look. I have about a 14” mattress in the picture for reference.Overall, really great product!!! And bonus is that it makes your bedroom smell like freshly cut wood.

King size bed frame wood is made of pinewood which is fine for it’s intended use (tho still a heavy pkg). Aesthetically appealing if your looking for a natural wood look. Wood will need varnishing and clear coat in the future. One person can assemble with a power tool. Instructions were readable. My 1-star rating has to do with the supplier/distributor and the very poor quality control. The QC person had just one job to do, review/double check the manual (like I did) to ensure all parts are accounted for. But no, mine is missing the 2 (important) center leg pieces and one screw to attach the corner of bed frame. So now I had to run to a local hardware store to find these missing pieces. All added time, labor, and expense! Distributor needs to understand what a PiA it is to not have all the parts in its box! Meantime, my temp fix is to stack books underneath the bed frame. What a shame, I would’ve typed a more favorable review, but unless I am partially refunded or the missing center pieces are sent to me, this 1 star will remain. Oh btw, how the heck do I contact the manufacturer/distributor here? Tried with no success. Disappointing and frustrating. Very unhappy customer despite this being a fine product.

Bed frame came in today. Shipping was very quick. Plus side to this frame: it’s solid wood, great price for what you’re getting, sturdy.It is lower to the ground than I had anticipated but that’s not entirely a bad thing for us since it’s for our 3 year old son.The box arrived taped back together with the screws and dowels taped to the outside of the box. Usually I would blame who ever delivered it but in this case there was a giant sticker on it that stated “arrived unsealed” which leads me to believe that Amazon shipped the box with it unsealed or not sealed well. Either way, we were missing dowels and some screws. Luckily we had extra that happened to be the right size so I didn’t have to worry about running to the hardware store.While this frame was fairly simple to put together, the instructions were absolutely horrible. The parts weren’t labeled in anyway so you just kind of have to guess which part belongs where. The directions had no words and the pictures weren’t very clear either. Basically I looked at the finished product picture and guessed how the parts went together.Overall I’d say other than the missing parts issue, the frame itself is of good quality and worth the money you pay for it but definitely expect poor instructions and potentially missing pieces.

Edit- after finally figuring out how to reach out to the company- went through the amazon assistant- they were great! I submitted my request and not 5 minutes later, I received a response. I was mailed extra hardware and was able to put the bed together. Such a great sturdy bed! Perfect for my 4 year old! Customer service is top notch!!!!I hope someone from Hedlunda can contact me after reading this. Just opened up my bed to put it together, and there is no hardware. The box was a little bit beat up so I am not blaming anyone, but I cannot find a contact number anywhere to request more hardware. Please help me Hedlunda!! Thank you.

I bought this bed frame because my grandson is transitioning from a crib/ toddler bed to a regular twin size bed. We already had a twin mattress, just needed the frame. The bed frame arrived on the day it was scheduled to arrive. It was very easy to assemble . I would say it took my husband no longer than 30 to 40 minutes to put together, and that included taking it out of the box, making sure all the parts were there and the assembly. Everything fit together easily. It is very sturdy. My grandson loves his big boy bed! I think for a solid wood bed frame it is a great bed for a great price!
