Zefal 2440 No-Mud Universal Front or Rear Mudguard for 26-inch Wheels, Black

Totally awesome mudguards. I looked at hundreds of reviews and read how people found them hard to fit and not very effective but others saying the fenders are great.So here is the truth, they're easy to fit, yes i said it - easy! If your stuggling with these you really should think about taking a DIY course or asking your children to fit them, i have no idea how these could cause trouble.I think the problem people are experiencing is their fitting them wrong, they need to be very close to the tyre, almost touching but not quite. With a little fiddling the fenders can be positioned hugging the tyre preventing mud being thrown over you.Also a great plus of the guards hugging the tyre is they look super smart and don't spoil the bikes profile like other "motocross" style guards I've had in the past.The fenders fit my Boardman Pro HTMB perfectly and almost look like they were made for the bike. I have ridden the bike through 20mile of trails, bushes and mud today and they haven't moved out of place and did a fine job of keeping me clean.So thats my 10p's worth. Get them bought, take your time fitting, make those fine adjustments and have a bike that looks dapper and a clean ass and legs.

Ich hab ein Video gemacht vor dem Fahren im Nassen. Deshalb hier noch einmal ein Fazit:Pro:- Die Montage ist zwar etwas fummelig hält aber dafür recht stabil.- Aussehen ist zwar Geschmacksache, ich finde es aber für einen guten Schutz doch sehr dezent und macht das Bild des eMTBs nicht kaputt.- Das eMTB wird in der Funktion (Federung) nicht eingeschränkt.- Es macht beim Fahren keine Geräusche auch nicht bei unwegsamen Gelände. (Stufen, Bordstein, etc.) alles kein Problem- Es hält einiges oder das meiste an Schmutz und Wasser ab.Kontra:- Es spritzt trotz des Schutzes noch Wasser und Dreck über das Schild an den Rücken (siehe Bilder) nicht viel aber man wir ein wenig dreckig, was nicht schlimm wäre aber man sollte etwas Wasserabweisendes anziehen, wenn man zur Arbeit fährt.- Man kann den Spritzschutz leider nicht mit 1-2 Handgriffen wieder demontieren (Schnellspanner etc. wäre schön)Kurz um: An sich ein für den Preis sehr stabiler und schicker Spritzschutz, der für ein 29" eMTB aber nicht 100% geeignet ist aber dennoch seinen Zweck erfüllt. Kaufempfehlung kann ich nicht zu 100% geben aber zu 80% weil es nicht nur Mittelmäßig sondern recht gut aber auch nicht Perfekt ist ;)

Only easy to fit if you are an experienced DIY'er, otherwise not so much. Instructions pictorial, too small and not self explanatory. No video on the manufactures website or youtube. You figure out the instructions as you run into problems fitting them. But the first one worked so well I bought a second, which was easy to fit after figuring out the first. For using at the front of my bike the 'tongue' had to be moved to the front of the guard for best coverage of the wheel. The position of the 'togue' on the rear seems to depend on the angle of the stays you are fastening it to. Not cheap but worth the money and the fitting time.

My old front mudguard snapped in two hitting a bump in the road which was actually quite a good thing because it wasn't ideal for my bike as it covered the top of the wheel and didn't protect the gear and brake cables that run underneath the frame. I must have spent hours looking for a new mudguard, since my bike has disc brakes as well as a V-brake mount that is welded to the forks it made finding a suitable mudguard a bit awkward but I'm pleased to say these have worked out perfectly. It gives total protection from water being fired up at me and the cables. They are also surprisingly sturdy.

I bought another (pair) of guards which were shown fitted to a full suspension bike in the Amazon listing. Could not fit rear guard, so bought this. Fitted without difficulty - too soon to see if fittings become brittle as has been reported.As others have said, the guard is short and will not protect frame or back of legs (so cut up the previous guard that I could not fit to bike, and glued to this to extend to protect frame. Used (some of) the fittings from other guard as well, to share the weight).**** **** UPDATE **** ****Down from 4 stars to 2!Fitted in late July, snapped in mid August. Lightly used and kept in garage, so UV degradation not an issue. Noticed guard wa somwhat crooked, pulled slighty on side stay to straighten ... snapped exactly as others have found. Very brittle - would ask for refund, but for fact I'd made minor (no extra load) adaptions, as indicated.
