I have purchased several scribes over the years and they all lack being a total package. Watched this scribe used and decided to buy and sure am glad I did. It is so easy to use and accurate as anything I have. Only question I have is where to get replacement pens.

The media could not be loaded. Works very well for me. Personally I'd forget about the pen inserts as they are unlikely to be able to be found again. I suppose a regular ball point insert may work, but it won't fit precisely. Also, since the pens will be extended when set up for scribing, I see them flexing under pressure. I'd prefer to only use the scribe pins, which can be resharpened if necessary.

I do a lot of wood working and my wife does a lot of crafting. This allows us to mark distances from the edge of our items with excellent accuracy and far easier than trying to line a straight edge long enough for the mark you need to make. Granted, it cannot do everything. What it does, it does well. It is nice that the item takes pen refills you can get at most any store that sells pens. It does not tie you into ordering from the manufacturer or an aftermarket product.
