Excellent book!
Very few people understand how trauma affects your health and well being. The author does and relates a fascinating history of how trauma was treated from the early days of the 20th century to the present. Every doctor should read this book to learn about trauma and how it affectts their patients. Too many toxic drugs are used which really don't get to the root of the problem. There is a better way, and the author does a masterful job of telling how.

I love how this is written. It’s engaging, not written like a textbook. It’s very informative and gives great examples and insight.

Stunning Insight
This retired psychiatrist who specialized in the harrowing field of Trauma Patients provides a new level of understanding related to how the brain and body actually respond to overwhelming trauma. Excellent but not for the faint of heart. Much like “The Real Anthony Fauchi”, you can’t read it through at one go. You need a break from “man’s inhumanity to man”, to children and, in Fauchi’s case, animals as well. If you make the journey you will be more knowledgable and wiser but changed. These things cannot be unseen.

Topic is difficult, but well written.
The author has personal traumatic experience as a child. I've always think of doctors and psychiatrist as not having problems. It was eye-opening to hear his story and also how he has helped others with their stories. The body is amazing. The body does keep the score.
