Brother Monochrome Laser Multifunction All-in-One Printer, MFC-L5700DW, Flexible Network Connectivity

I like everything about the printer. The only bad thing is that I don't have a better place to set the printer so I have to set it near the computer which I don't like to do but I have no choice. That has nothing to do with the printer, the printer is wonderful. I have the printer set up on a home network and we have 4 computers in the house which we use daily. Any of the computers can use the printer and we like that a lot. It was simple to connect the printer to the network and everything works perfectly.Setup was simple, a child could do it. The menu is pretty simple to use, it is very intuitive and there is a decent manual in case you run into a problem. This machine scans in color which I really like, and if I need to copy a colored page I can can the page and then print the scanned image with my color laser printer. I rarely ever need to print color though, probably 99 percent of the printing I do is just text. I rarely need to send a FAX but now I have that capability. I have not tried to do that yet, but i did play with it a little and it seems to be fairly straight forward. I like the fast speed that it can print, not that I am a business with a lot of fast printing needs, but when I need several pages printed I like to get the job done and this printer prints out pages VERY fast.I would highly recommend this printer to home users or for a small business. It would work OK for a larger business too, assuming you don't need color.

This is a great office printer/scanner/copier if you only need to print black and white. This does a great job printing, scanning, and copying. Easy to setup on the network and prints very fast.

Just retired my 12 year old Brother MFC. This one still uses the fantastic brother software to scan, fax, and print from PC. Network printing is super easy. Software install does all the work. I didn't even bother with USB connection, but that is also an option. I love how you can customize scans to a folder on your PC to a PDF. Im glad Brother kept the great software. After 20 years on IT, Brother MFC has best software and best printer.

Working well, clean fast copies. Only problem so far is that the fax memory fills up fast and machine stops working. For some reason all incoming faxes get stored in memory, even though they printed normally. Each fax in the memory (50) has to be manually cleared. I will try to read the manual and see if there is any way around it. When in doubt, RTFM!

We purchased this brother printer in June, 2024 on Amazon from TripleNet Pricing, INC and had trouble with product out of the box. Printer was printing very light, unreadable pages. We were instructed to contact Brother by Amazon site, which we did. Brother sent a new printer cartridge, the one sent with printer was NOT a brother cartridge. Waited for new cartridge, when did arrive, it did not work. Contacted Brother again (as instructed on AMAZON site for trouble shooting/warranty issues). Brother said, they would replace the printer ie: standing by their product and honoring their warranty. Brother contacted us after getting our information about the printer and said they could not replace since we bought from a third party seller, and that TRIPLENET WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED SELLER of BROTHER PRODUCTS. Brother could not honor the warranty. This process took over 30 days. After contacting Triple Net and Amazon over 10 times, and being told that TripleNet would not replace. because it was not within their 30 day refund window. We were told that Amazon would not stand by their A-Z Guarantee because the product was "not defective". This was a clearly defective product. Amazon did tell us once that they would refund, but later reversed and we told that the agent we spoke with was not "authorized". We asked to speak to a supervisor, and were told we could not.Shame on Amazon for allowing a seller like this to operate within their company. We've only had positive experiences with Amazon previously. Shame on TripleNet for not standing by their products, even if they are "reconditioned". We bought a new Brother printer from another company and it is working just fine.

First the good. This large all-in-one unit prints quickly, even with batch feeds. Furthermore, the WiFi is very dependable. My laptop is on the first floor and my printer as far away as possible on the second floor. However, the WiFi has functioned perfectly. Second, setting the printer up was a major task. The instructions provided little help and I called Customer Service. The service rep was excellent and very-I stress "very" here, patient. It took about 1/2 hour with the service rep to get the printer fully functional. My suggestion for Brother is to provide better instructions as the set-up was far more technical than the set-up manual indicated. I would buy this again.

I am extremely happy and impressed with this laser printer. Very reasonably priced- GREAT print quality, and surprisingly easy to set up, load with paper, and connect to wi-fi for all computers in the house.I love this Brother Printer. I used the ratings from Consumer Reports, and they were right-on!

Love this printer. Real workhorse with all modern features. Great prints & fast operation. We use the document feeder a lot, and this one has a really good robust design. Have been methodically replacing my HP printers with these, and have been very satisfied except for one thing. When this printer starts up it draws a lot of power, and if plugged into a heavily loaded or overstretched circuit, will cause brownout conditions for other devices on that circuit. This is true for all laser printers, but more so for this Brother. I have a couple locations with very old and/or questionable wiring that were using other printers, and now that they have these, they frequently have things reset or turn off when they print something. For most of my locations this is not an issue.
