Yes, but- what type of metal joist are we talking about? If it's a 26 or 24 guage type of metal joist, I wouldn't recommend hanging a chair or swing from it.

Q: can this be mounted on 2x10 joist ?

Q: Do the springs really support 400 lbs each? 150lbs seems to stretch a spring quite a lot
