Excellent compass, better than anything on the market. I waffled for at least a year to purchase due to the price, but in the end it is worth every penny. The compass is flawless and rigid upon use even with small circles. Highly recommended!

This would have to cost a lot more to not be a good value. This compass feels better than $250 in the hand. It is easy and fast to use. The machining on all parts is superb. This is a tool that will outlast my bloodline.

Built tough. Will last a long time, will be given to my heirs. You get what you pay for. I recommend this product. Came out of the package and was used "right off the bat". I had to find the correct diameter pencil, no problem. (Plan on getting a better pencil that will be "earmarked" for this tool.)

Great product. The metal pin on one side can be replaced with a pencil that makes these a superlative compass or set of scribes. They're seemingly pricey, but they will certainly outlive me and the micro adjustment wheels are invaluable if you intend to use these as scribes as I do.

While it is pricey I never experience buyers remorse when buying quality tools. Buy once, cry once; You get what you pay for. This is an heirloom quality tool. Very rigid with a beefy hinge that doesn't bow or deflect when applying pressure. Anyone in the trades knows that "feel" that a good tool has in your hand...you won't be disappointed. I give these 5 stars. only reason for the 4 star rating is because It was shipped in a bubble wrap envelope, which didn't provide any protection to the starret box whatsoever. It was smashed flat and is completely unusable...this figures because machine tools are the only things I actually like to keep in the factory box. Nevertheless, tool was undamaged, and I'm very happy with their performance.

I am a cabinet maker/ installer, looking for a high quality scribing tool.purchased an accuscribe many years ago performed okay, but....so spend big bucks for this piece of crap!! initial quality seems good- heavy, well constructed- then I removed the point to install pencil- instantly noticed the locknut seemed sloppy/loose- installed pencil, attepmted! to tighten nut, won't tighten!?!? The locking ring and nut have VERY sloppy/ loose threads ( feels like it's stripped, but not). For this kind of money, I expect quality, not having to deal with with returns, etc.!!! Totally dissatisfied!
