Works fine for live streaming sports
The media could not be loaded. I live stream sports for our school district and this mic captures all court noise. I could have a conversation behind it that would not show up on the mic. When I was announcing there was a little bit of an echo on my stream but I talk pretty loud. So far I like the result. The video is just to show how well you can hear the crowd and the court I have a different mic on me.

Actual Shotgun Mic for a Great Price
Bought this to replace a LyxPro CMG-50 that was acting up. Happy to find that this microphone isn't a fake shotgun mic (i.e. doesn't have the microphone at the tip of the tube for some reason), and provides pretty decent off-axis rejection with adequate sound quality. Will make an excellent Discord microphone for games as it cuts down on background and keyboard noise.

Good in a pinch
Captures a little too much background noise for my taste and not enough on the subject in the lens. Good in a pinch and great as a back up!

OMG, I am beyond impressed
I have been filming full-time for the past few years. I've used a few different camera mics for different cameras as well. When I ordered my Panasonic Eva1, it didn't come with a mic so I needed a good and simple solution that didn't cost a ton. I worked this with a smallrig clamp for it for the XLR on the camera. I've shooting a lot of run and gun-type stuff and was asked to do some quick interviews just from my camera alone. I was a little worried about the sound since a lot was making noise while I asked a few questions. Once I got home and loaded up the footage, I went back a listened to what I got. I could NOT believe how clear every person sounded that I interviewed. I never had a camera mic this good. I 100%b recommend if you need a good on camera mic that uses XLR.

Doesn't fit snugly into the Sony PD170.
Works, but I also have not tested extensively or for quality of the audio itself. Says it's for the Sony PD170, which it is, but it doesn't fit snug into the mic holder. Someone else said they wrapped a bunch of rubber bands around it to get it to fit & that's precisely what I did. Kind of ghetto, but whatever works.
