AC window heavy duty bracket
Arrived on time. This AC support bracket is the real deal. I have replacement windows so I had to put inside on the window ledge. Screwed to the wooden ledge. Didn't use the extensions because the window frame is plastic. Gave it 5 stars due to being heavy duty and easy to install. Well worth the higher cost of other AC brackets. Also had a happy wife so happy life.

Confusing set-up, Secure Installation
Why I didn't purchase this sooner is beyond me, especially since I have two window units ACs. I am reviewing this product after a full summer of use. I bought two of these and despite the high price at the time it was worth it.The initial assembly is somewhat confusing and the directions don't help. However once assembled installing the air conditioning is a breeze. Setting the width and angle is easy, although without any markings you'll have to count holes. The metal is sturdy and locking pins are secure once set.Installation number one involved a window in the center of a wall. Here I was able to securely fit the bracket. I did need to use a piece of wood under the unit to protect the outer window frame from a protusion on the AC case. This involved resetting the angle of the bracket. Once everything was secure, I closed the window and it fit.The second window is a corner unit. The wall did not allow the full use of one of the arms that sits on the inside of the window. I positioned the AC closer to the side of the window that had the full use of the bracket. A quick look outside showed it was still balanced and shaking it didn't move anything. This AC unit had a completely flat underside, so no additional support was needed.Despite being outside all season, one with full sun, the brackets still look new, even where each unit sat. There are minor scuffs on one, not a scratch on the other. The locking pins still move without hesitation. As for any damage to the outside of the house, I looked hard for any sign of marks or imprints. If there is one I didn't notice by sight or touch. This bracket may cost more than others, but I recommend it.

works great
really easy compared to other brackets for ACs. put it together in a few seconds and made it all fit quite easily. liked that there was no drilling needed. and i live in a very old bldg in NYC and things are uneven everywhere and it still holds up perfectly. definitely buy if youre getting a unit from others or even buying a new unit that may come w a bracket, doesnt matter, this one is better.

Good Product. Customers should be aware of the need for weather stripping when ordering
The packaging was exceptionally good. Whoever designed the packaging should get a bonus. The instructions were easy to follow for people who take the time to read. The images could be larger with more detail. Suggestion -- Step 1 of the instructions could optionally direct the person to a website that has high resolution photographs and drawings. The reason this product doesn't get 5 stars is because (at least at the time I ordered it), the product description summary doesn't suggest that the customer also purchase weather stripping. I'm not objecting to weather stripping not being included. I'm objecting to not being told that it wouldn't be included. (The A/C that I purchased, did include sufficient weather stripping for itself.)What I used was 1.25" x 1.25" weather stripping. The length I used was twice the width of the window. I cut one set to the width of the window and ran it along the base of the "trough." Then I cut the other into 3 sections the length of the 3 sections I end up with after adjusting the product to the width of my window. (There are barriers that keep the upper set from being full width of the window.)So, my suggestion to others is buy weather stripping at the same time. Some people may want to consider buying weather stripping with adhesive to put on the "face" of the unit. Length should be the width of your window. Width about 2.75 inches. You'll have to cut this into 3 sections and make special cuts for the adjustment knobs (that you don't need to adjust once you size it but you can't put the weather stripping over them and have it work as intended). In closing, I wish the manufacturer would either provide the weather stripping or be clear exactly what should be purchased so that customers can get everything at the same time.

Sturdy and fits old NYC buildings
I live in a walk up apartment building in NYC built in the 1890s with nice windows that have coping stones at the bottom of the windows on the outside. This is the only bracket I’ve ordered where the bracket is big enough to go around the coping stone and rest on the bricks underneath.Very sturdy and easy to install. Such a clever design!

Easy to set up and is very sturdy
This mount is easy to set up, install, and is very sturdy. I'm currently using it to hold my AC without a problem. It's worth buying to have the extra peace of mind that your AC won't fall out the window. My only recommendation for improvement is that there is a big gap of space on the front side of the mount that stays inside. This allows you to adjust the arms that hold on to your window inside. However, this also leaves a lot of space for air to enter from the outside. To get around this we filled it with insulating foam once the arms were in place (see the second picture, without the foam air would get through the holes), but just wanted to give anyone interested in buying this a heads up.

Keeps the weight off my flimsy vinyl windows
I have a typical Texas bricked house. I did not want 75lbs of ac weight on my vinyl windows so I took a chance on this. It works great. The weight is on the inside wall and the outside brick. For good measure I put some crap 2 x X under the outside so the weight was on the outside brick sill and the wall. The bracket ws trivial to assemble. I need to stuff insulation around the bracket because it raises the ac a bit, bit that is a welcome trip to Home Depot for me.
