Time will tell
As with all supplements, unless you suffer a particular adverse reaction immediately, it will take time to measure and worthwhile benefits. To a large degree, the positive benefits are probably to do with whether you think it is doing what you want it to... Check out the 'placebo effect'. So provided the product ingredients are of a 'reasonable' quality (and not laced with a load of rubbish as sheer padding) and at an affordable price point, then no harm in trying it.I like the smell of this product when you opent the packet, but my partner doesn't; she still uses it though; because once it's mixed in with a drink or sprinkled in food, there is no problem.

Maca habit...
I'm beginning to wonder if Maca is addictive because I've been adding a spoonful to my breakfast cereal for a while and really miss it when it's gone. This 1kg bag of Organic Maca from Nature Diet is pretty decent value and seems really good quality. The flavour is admittedly an acquired taste for some people, tasting like slightly burned swede, but as long as you don't overdue it blends with other flavours like chocolate quite well. Note it doesn't really dissolve and will retain a slight grainy texture and so if that bothers you it's maybe best added to smoothies or even soups where it will blend in better. The supposed health benefits are numerous and various and are probably best taken with a dose of salt-substitute but I do feel a get a bit of a morning boost from it and if it contributes to other benefits that's great. As mentioned now I'm in the habit of taking it daily I don't want to stop and I actually prefer taking it in powder form than in capsules (though I often take both). Capsules generally use a concentrated extract so supposedly pack more active ingredients into less bulk but I think I notice more benefit from the raw powder. Either way it's worth a try!

A Perfect, Pure Product
There's nothing to criticise about this organic maca powder from Nature Diet. It's a truly perfect product. Most importantly, it's pure and free from pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers or chemical additives of any kind. An additional strength is that the product comes from Peruvian fairtrade farms, meaning the people who grow and harvest the maca can make a living from their work. This should be a given but unfortunately it is not - many farmers around the world live in poverty.I love maca powder. It's one of my favourite smells - sweet and just perfect. It tastes delicious and provides a host of benefits to health, mood and general well-being. I add it to smoothies to take on long mountain-bike rides. It boosts energy levels and improves mood (I'm not moody by default, but I've noticed that maca - like supermushroom chaga - elevates even a good mood). It's a powerful adaptogen, meaning it helps the human body to adapt to stress. The mood enhancement maca delivers is just one of the ways it achieves this de-stressing effect. Maca also improves mental focus and reduces anxiety - two more key ways in which this amazing substance helps the human body to adapt to stress. I could go on and on about the benefits of maca. In my experience it is all positive, with no negative side effects at all. A five-star product without any doubt.
