You can however it is wool which will be very hot in the summer. It is considered a Fall/Winter Hat

Q: What size would you recommend for a 23" head?

I suggest ordering a slightly smaller size than what normally fits a 23" head because the one I ordered was a little too big even though I measured my head and consulted a hat-size chart. Another buyer mentioned that "these hats run large" and he was right. I had to modify mine to fit (stuffed paper towel in the inner band.)
