Well researched and much needed perspective on the origins of reiki
I really enjoyed reading more about how women were able to uphold the very early traditions of this original form of Reiki. It also brought great pleasure to know that reiki history has been treated with reverence, and knowledge that may have otherwise been lost has been brought to life in this well written and researched book.

Women who gave & saved Reiki
This remarkable book is a joy to read and hold. It’s beautifully designed and beautifully written, telling the story of the many women who learned Reiki from the earliest days in Japan & passed their knowledge on to others.Of course it is something of a social history of Japan in the 20th century, illuminating many aspects of western history too. It also explains a great deal about the position of women in a very traditional society, and how they were able to influence and change things, for themselves and for their families.Western and eastern approaches to healing come from very different origins, and those who are sceptical about Reiki may find this a very helpful introduction. Everything is very carefully explained and there is no mistaking the love, honour, knowledge, wisdom, peace, and optimism found in this remarkable healing technique. I felt the dedication and humble spirituality of so many of these practitioners had directly influenced my own experience & well-being.This book is not only a helpful manual but also a reference work which will be of huge value to anybody practising Reiki privately for themselves or in a professional capacity. It’s worth every penny and will be a much treasured item on my own bookshelves

A wonderful book
This is such a beautiful book and learning about the inspiring women who were instrumental in using and teaching Reiki in the early days, to the women of today still carrying forward traditional Reiki methods has been a fascinating journey. Its really well written and informative - I've learnt so much!
