Good bet!
It was a few years ago, I purchased Nero Suite 11, since then I did not use Nero product. it was OK product. In the recent days, our kids grow up and my wife gets more and more involved in our community, she captured quite bit video and photos, and it is good time to site down to organize these digital assets. With the new technologies changes faster, and I should catch up to purchase the brand new product, I was suspecting if the product in good quality, after a few hours video editing and try out Nero MediaHome, the product is amazing, much matured than a few years ago. I was successfully put all of my wife's iphone phones into PC and and then use Nero MediaHome to organize it, it was really quick to see all of the photos and organized by time line and location, and also face recognition is great, I can easily create album and create slideshow, then I use Nero Video to editing these slideshow and add title for a group photos and video and replace my favorite music into audio track and export to slideshow video. my video was 8 minutes, and my PC has a Nvideo graphic card, hardware acceleration is automatically selected when I export video, it only takes me about 4 minutes to export a full HD video. Really happy with the result. it literally took me about less than an hour to finish everything. it is a big time saver for me to complete the project. a little surprise that the video captured in iphone 6 plus is a 4K video, I can also put into the project and edit it without any problem.I also tried Nero MediaHome with a free mobile app "Nero Streaming Player", it can access my contents in the PC, I asked my wife also download it, and she can enjoy her old photo from her mobile phone even though the photo was deleted from her phone, it saved her iphone space, now she can takes more photos with her old iphone. that's great. It is quite surprised that another free app "Nero MediaHome Wi-Fi sync", now as long as my wife keep the app in your iphone, I don't need to plug into USB cable and copy all of the photo to computer, her photo will be automatically synced to my PC , it is an awesome surprise.I will try out Nero Recode and Disc to Devices features during weekend. Anyway it is a big relieve that I finished my wife's project.Overall, I feel it is a great bet, and good invest for me to solve my problems and finish my project easily. Highly recommended.

Nero Works Great - Until You Need Support
I have used Nero products for many years now. I use it mainly for making DVD's (this does not rip copyrighted content from DVD's) and for playing videos and DVD's. I have not attempted to use this with Blueray disks. It has several other features but those are the ones I mostly use. I use it in a Windows 10 environment on a 64 bit PC.The good about Nero:It does a good job for what I use it for. Properly installed, It will play seeming nearly any video or music file. The not so good about Nero:One year from install they will no longer handle support issues and they will not roll out any further upgrades or fixes after that period.Nero has a history of being affected by Microsoft Windows new versions and upgrades and sometimes no longer working after Microsoft rolls out an upgrade as recently happened to me.Recently Microsoft had rolled out an upgrade to Windows 10 that kept the file player part of Nero (Nero Media Home) from playing MP4 video files that it had previously played. I purchased this new copy of Nero 2017 Platinum, uninstalled my 2015 version, and installed the new version. Initially it had the same exact problem. I then contacted Nero, gave them my license number, and then a day later they told me that recent Microsoft Windows 10 updates had caused the problem. They referred me to a cumulative update for Windows 10 to install. I then installed that and then after the update and reboot Nero worked perfectly. Note that I had to buy a new version of Nero to get the support from their support group to fix an incompatibility between Nero and Microsoft.Do not ever buy Nero as a download - My experience from that is that one year from date of install it will mysteriously stop working and when you attempt a reinstall it will tell you that you need to buy a new license. If you buy it as a disk you can reinstall it even after a year if you need to. But of course if you need support, well that's a different issue.I am completely happy with the functionality of Nero when it's working. I am very unhappy with their business model that seems to try to force you to buy a new version every year. If they are going to just "rent" me the software a year at a time they need to greatly reduce its cost.

Not as good as your older Nero!
If you are thinking of buying this product, PLEASE read the negative reviews and believe them. This new version of Nero is missing some of the options and conveniences of older versions. One of the most glaring issues is the lack of a decent help function. Gone is the option of a disc based Help or online Knowledge Base, it has been replaced with a separate "NowHow" app that must be downloaded and installed to access product help. You must also be connected to the Internet to access any product help. For another example: I am not sure when Nero changed their access functions, but when you used to open the Nero Desktop Icon, a window would open where you could choose the type of disc you want to work on and all of your Nero options would be displayed. If you chose the wrong option, Nero would return you to the option window where you could choose another option. If you choose the wrong option with this version and try to go back to the options window, you are dumped back to your desktop and must restart the whole process by reclicking on the Desktop Icon. I know that this may seem petty, but this is just meant to be an easy example of Nero's "better engineering".Keep your older Nero product( or find one), insead of wasting your money on Nero 2017!

Learning Curve But Good Results
There's a lot here in this Nero 2017 Platinum edition. I had a prior one Nero 2010 that fell apart. So I am familiar with Nero programs and even though it took a while and many errors, I learned how to use it, and I really like it.Never used the Tech Support, so I don't know about that. And this was a good buy. All in all I enjoy it.
