Q: can you unattach the tail

Yes! We didn’t use the tail that came with the costume. I bought a fluffier one and attached it. It’s been a while, so I can’t remember how the original attaches.

Upsize for sure! My daughter was on the thin but taller side same age when purchased and needed to re-order. Best of luck.
