My kids had an interactive globe for younger kids and outgrew it. I was looking for something that would be be more advanced, and this globe has been perfect. Using this globe, my son has memorized every country in the world, even the tiny island nations that I've never heard of. The globe has a variety of games to help learn not just geography but facts and culture about each country. I love that it doesn't include a screen -- just an interactive pen and audio. I can feel good about this being a screen free activity. The pen is chargeable and it holds its charge for several days. It recharges quickly.Also want to note I needed some special assistance with the shipping and the customer service was excellent. Highly recommend!

I am delighted by this globe and it has so many more fascinating features than even I imagined (which my 5-year old is equally thrilled by). For example, being able to click on "music" and hear national anthems or local music of any country is spectacular. Ditto for food, ecology, "world records", and other fun facts. My son loves the trivia component most of all and at the Beginner setting, it is perfect for him. The globe is sturdy, beautiful, and the interface between the pen and the places pointed to has been spot-on and seamless. If I had to pick one aspect to improve upon, it would be the "hello"/language option since the accents for every country are pretty terrible. That said, they are technically accurate, albeit poorly pronounced, so there is educational value even there. All in all, this has been the biggest hit this Christmas and I have already recommended it to several other parents. So brilliant and very fun!

We have had this globe for 5 years now and we absolutely love it! My kids frequently walk around the house listening to the music it plays and the find it game with different difficulty levels is fun and educational. All four of my kids, as well as countless visitors have loved this globe.This globe has a long life. After 5 years it is still going strong without any issues. I am so happy with it!I highly recommend it!

I bought this for our 6-year old granddaughter's Christmas present. She uses it all the time, especially the animal part. BUT it does not have enough light to view without some independent light directly on it. It is also top heavy and falls backward too much. But the knowledge it imparts to a child is amazing and frankly worth the problems

This globe has lot of data which is absolutely stale. Many country names are not correct, total counts are not correct etc... The whole purpose of someone purchasing this globe at this exorbitant price is to let kids or anyone explore the globe and learn something new but if the information is stale, what is the point? I contacted intelliglobe customer care and as per them, software could probably be updated sometime in next year (when i asked last year, i was told it will be done by mid this year) with no tentative date/plan and this makes it really worthless. Unless you are happy to check even if the data is stale, there is no good reason to buy this. Better buy a new encyclopedia for yourself to get the latest updates.

Ordered 3 globes for 3 different families for Christmas. Know this will be a popular item for all the kids (ages 2-10) for many years to come. There are so many options for learning on the globe AND with the book that is also connected to the wireless pen. The globe focuses on continents, countries, oceans, for example. The USA has states delineated, but to study state facts, child uses interactive book that also covers flags, lakes & rivers, landmarks, animals, and 14 other topics! This is one of those great gifts that can be used solo or with several children and with so many learning options, will keep them interested as their curiosity and world expands. I appreciate that book, pen, and charging wire for pen have a special place to be tucked away when globe is not in use. As a grandmother and former elementary educator, I am extremely happy with this purchase. The globe is expensive, but consider giving it as a family gift. This globe will last longer and be appreciated longer than lots of the junk toys kids will receive Christmas morning. I am going to order one more for our volunteer tutoring center. Kids can study from books and the computer, but nothing truly explains our wonderful world like a hands on globe! Bravo, Replogle Globes!
