Dangerously fun. A thirsty lighter!
The media could not be loaded. Burns through fuel quickly even at a reduced setting. A show piece not meant for long term camling. Otherwise this thing is fun to use, and with its transparent fuel cell you can see how much fuel you burn in real time.

Cant give Zero stars
Didnt work, right out of the box. Never got a flame. Best part is I have to pay the return shipping for a defective item... Looked forward to negating fuel evaporation... not a smoker but lighter is part of EDC for me. Zippos are 90 years reliable and BICs never let me down....

Does Exactly What It Is Supposed To Do
This is pretty nifty. It provides both a regular Zippo-type flame and a blue torch flame. It fits perfectly into a normal sized Zippo shell.Zippos tend to leak fuel. This gadget does not as it is a butane cartridge, and it won't dry out like Zippo cotton does.

Loved the dual flame, till it stopped working properly
The media could not be loaded. This insert is super cool - I love the dual flame feature (blue flame or yellow flame). How it works (how it worked when I first bought it) is the blue flame ignites first, and when you let go of the lever, the yellow flame comes on and stays on until you close the lid. After only a few days (and not heavy use - at all) the yellow flame stopped staying on by itself. It still works, but you just have to hold the lever half-up-half-down to make it stay on. The blue flame still functions normally.I was going to return it, but I didn't want to pay for shipping. I am going to keep it because it still functions, but it's not working as it should.Super disappointing how unreliable this insert is. I love the concept of the dual blue and yellow flames, but wouldn't want to go camping or anything with it where I would have to RELY on this insert. The good 'ole Bic lighter is still the best.

Windproof
So, I picked up this Thunderbird Regular Flame Gas Lighter Insert because, let's be real, I'm a bit of a sucker for that classic lighter look, but I was totally over the whole 'refilling it every two seconds' routine. Plus, the promise of a windproof flame had me intrigued.Firstly, this little gadget is supposed to slide into most liquid fuel lighter cases, like your granddad's Zippo. It's a snug fit, but it works. The flint wheel ignition is old school – which I dig – but I've gotta say, it can be a bit of a diva. Sometimes it sparks up on the first try; other times, it's like trying to start a campfire in a rainstorm. A bit hit or miss. Now, about the tank size – it's not exactly what you'd call generous. If you're the type to forget to refill, you might find yourself clicking a whole lot of nothing halfway through the day. But when it's got juice, it's pretty sweet. It's butane refillable, which means no more smelling like you just hot-boxed with gasoline. The windproof claim? Solid. This thing holds its own against some pretty gnarly breezes. I've been that person outside, cupping my hands around a flickering flame, cursing the wind. Not anymore. The Thunderbird keeps its cool and keeps the flame steady, which is a big win in my book. They've also got a torch lighter insert and a pipe insert, which I haven't tried because I'm not much of a smoker, but if they're anything like this one, they're probably decent.Overall, it does the job. It's not going to change your life, but it'll light your fires. Just keep an eye on that fuel level, and have a little patience when it's being temperamental. If you're into that retro vibe and want a more modern flame, it's worth a shot.

Great product
Great product, great price, fits in a zippo frame perfectly, uses regular torch fuel, looks cool, and is wind resistant... what more could you ask for

I loved it until it broke.
So I carried it on me everyday it's great little later I love having the butane torch and then having the regular flame as well we'll say the regular flame is not wind resistant at all and can be a little hinky getting it to light you might have to try a couple times but normally it will light however and I'm not sure why it wasn't dropped or anything but I pulled it out to check the fluid level on it cuz I hadn't used it in a while and just wanted to make sure I had fuel in it and it was empty so I put fuel in it and it started spraying out the side of it so I'm not sure how but either a hose disconnected or casing has a crack in it or I don't know what but it's leaking fuel quite severely like it it'll empty out itself within a minute or two of being refilled so unless you put in the ZIP code it'll last a little bit longer in there just cuz it has to work harder to escape but definitely not worth carrying anymore I have switched to one of the other inserts that I bought from them at the same time now but I really did like this one quite a bit till it broke I haven't tried contacting support yet cuz I'm lazy but maybe they'll contact me on here and save me the effort.

Great little insert for Zippos
I've got two of two of these so far and they're great replacement inserts for Zippos. If you use this a lot it does burn through butane pretty quickly. But honestly it's better than the standard Zippo inserts which lose fluid to evaporation in a matter of a couple of weeks.
