Perfect for administering medication for dogs
My 16 year old dog has to take medicine and these work great. Soft and large enough. Makes it easy to administer. I order them every month and store in a zip lock bag to keep them fresh.

Worked great
Bought these when my dog had surgery and had to have a lot of follow up meds. She never knew they were packed full of medicine! Made giving meds a breeze. Would definitely buy again if my dog needs meds in the future.

Makes your life easier.
In the past, when we've had to give medications to our dogs, we would wrap it in small piece of cheese or turkey, but the dogs eventually figure it out and find a way to eat the cheese or turkey without ingesting the medication. Our dog recently had surgery and I didn't want to have to worry about her finding a way to not eat her medication. So, after much consideration, I went ahead and picked up a bag of these at Petsmart. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to administer her medication that when I ran out two weeks later, I ordered two more bags from Amazon.Pros:# Treats can accommodate capsules (but also tablets).# Treats come in different flavors, though Hickory Smoke flavor was my dog's favorite.# Treats can accommodate up to 2-3 tablets/capsules depending on the size of the capsule or tablet.# Treats are easy to use; insert the capsule or tablet, pinch the end to "close" the treat, and give it to your dog.# Treats are soft and smell fresh.# Treats can be purchased for capsules (larger treats) or for tablets (smaller treats); choose based on what your administering.# Vendor also offers pill pockets for cats!Cons:# A few pill pockets were crumbled at the bottom, so don't count on the full number of pill pockets as indicated on the bag because some of them will be somewhat unusable. It is still possible to pinch those together and make it work, but just a thought.Considerations:# Capsule-sized treats can accommodate multiple tablets so if you have capsules and tablets, I recommend the capsule size treats.# Tablet-sized treats are smaller so if you have a smaller dog and you have tablets, the tablet size treats might make more sense.

Must have for finicky dogs
My Chiweenie is on pills twice a day.The only way he takes them is in the pill pockets.I break them in half and fold the caplets in. Easy no fuss and he loves the hickory flavor.Best price I’ve been able to find is on amazon.

Picky Eater Eats These WITH Pill
This is the ONLY way my dog (pit bull) will take a pill! Finicky eater and always thinks I am tricking her to eat poison :). I have used cheese, deli meat, peanut butter, stuffed in food dish hidden inside people food, meat balls … This one has worked every time. I will always have these on hand when my doubtful picky licks eater has to take pills. Always fake them out and if you have another dog, get that dog excited for a treat, then toss to get excitement up or make them work for it (sit, down, stay etc). Make it a part of the routine, don’t let them hear the pill bottle, make crinkle treat bag noises. Use all of their senses! Lmao fingers crossed for all you out there trying to get these pups to take their meds lolPhotos bc they are cuties. How do you photograph a dog taking a treat that will show you how great these are? They ONLY get these “treats” when it is pill time.

Easy and flexible to use
The pill pockets are designed to insert a pill, pinch it closed and give it to the dog. Actually, I take some of the pill pocket and wrap it around the pills. This makes the pill smaller to take, and extends how long the bag lasts. I keep the bag sealed and as air free as possible. So I take a few and place in another small bag, keeping them as air free as possible. If you left the pockets out, exposed to air, they would loose their soft flexibility - defeating the purpose of using them. My dog needs to take 5 pills a day. Of those, 2 are 'chewable' and my picky dog has to have them wrapped too. As you probably have noticed 'chewable' pills are bigger than plain pills. That's where the flexibility to only use a partial pill pocket is excellent - other wise the pill plus pill pocket would be huge, and a nightmare to give a picky eater. The pills are wrapped, 3 in am and 2 in pm, tossed in the food dish with her meal, and she eats them. My other dogs will take the wrapped pills from my hand and gulp them down. The Hickory flavor seems to work better for my picky dog, the others don't care what flavor is used. I won't say every picky eater will consume them, but it works for me. I have not had any digestive issues with this product. It is helpful the pill pocket can be molded around whatever pill, tablet, or capsule you are trying to give your pet. I have previously used them for my cat, which is another story.
