Very informative. Time will be spent well.
The media could not be loaded. It’s very informative. A perfect gift for your loved ones. The paper is glossy which is nice but lacks thickness as it’s soft for my liking. The size is a bit smaller than the regular cards but perfect for my hand grasp (I am petite). I added a photo of a different card size for comparison.

Excellent value for the money.
As previous reviewers have mentioned, these cards are very nicely constructed and will last a long time -- plus, you get two decks. They can be used as regular playing cards, but we use them for "periodic table bingo", which the kids really enjoy. The cards are colorful, attractive, and memorable. I think they're a fabulous learning tool and have been very impressed with the retention of information they've inspired. I highly recommend these for beginning chemists or anyone who wants to brush up on the elements and their families.

Learning the Fun Way
I purchased this product for my 10 year old (grade 5) as he was showing interest in chemistry. Since he loves games, I thought this might be an interesting way to learn the periodic table. It is! The cards provide all the necessary information if he wants to test himself even further than trying to remember just what the letters stand for. When its fun, it becomes easier to learn. I like the fact that they can be used as regular playing cards as well. We'll be playing a regular type card game and he'll suddenly blurt out "OH! I know what element that is!". We are planning on purchasing the astronomy set, if it's available. It may seem expensive but when your child actually enjoys learning, it's worth the expense.

Great for Classroom!
I teach 8th grade science and my kids complete an "Adopt-an-Element" project every year. The Periodic Table Playing Cards are a fun way to assign kids their elements. It allows me to assign them randomly (kids pick a card from a hat) and they are able to learn things about the element they will be researching right away. They especially like the "uses" section on each card which lists a couple of common uses of the element.

awesome cards!
I almost didn't buy these cards since the price seems pretty steep(around $15 when I bought maybe a little less) but I was wanting some playing cards and since I'm a chemist these just caught my eye. The pros are beautiful cards, double deck for the $, colorful, nice quality - not matte finished but not super duper slick either and not too thin - I was very impressed with the quality of the cards and the look/feel of the cards. the card value is only in the corners due to the element taking center stage but all is readable - no teeny tiny itty bitty print though it has to fit on the card. the only cons are the packaging - not in a clear plastic case like it appears to be in the pictue(the black ghat looks like a case is on the cards themselves)-they come in a cardboard box that opens on the end and 2 other boxes slide out with a deck in each one - the little boxes simply advertise their other decks - at first I thought I had anatomy cards but nope just advertising other decks I could look for and purchase. Also another possible drawback is the visibility- the symbol and card value are large enough print but some of the backgrounds make it harder to see. The samples shown are the black cards with the 'better' backgrounds for that color- the red cards aren't as easily distinguished if you're playing a fast game - and coupled with the busyness of the cars takes some adjusting. my main problems were the red cards on the bright pink and orange backgrounds - other backgrounds they were fine. I've played about 6-7 games of klondike solitaire and my eyes adjusted more and more each round. also as mentioned in the pro-s - the element takes center stage so if you're used to looking at the center of the card for the suite/number, etc you're not gonna have that (can see this easily in the picture). also the back of the box says 1 element per card- this is true for most but the 4 joker cards(2 per deck) DO combine the later elements into 4 per card.

Felt like I paid too much for cards but they are beautiful
These cards look great. If you use them alot, it is worth the price, but if not then you feel like you paid too much. They are the coolest looking playing cards i ever had. I'm happy I own them.Great way to learn the periodic table.I'm 30. I didnt buy them for any kids. I bought them because I feel like a fraud that I graduated college and i dont have the periodic table memorized. Now I can learn and have fun at the same time.
