Ancient by today's standards, but works beautifully
Originally, I purchased these RAM modules as a set of four but gave two away to a family member to use in his identical Dell Optiplex GX280. Each 1GB module had 16 chips -- eight on each side -- comprising 64MBs, each.To replace the ones I had given away, I purchased to more of these RAM modules -- the same model number from the same seller -- and received two RAM modules that each had only eight chips on just one side. However, the modules were functionally equivalent. I'm guessing that each chip must have comprised 128MBs instead of just 64MB.Either way, these DDR2-PC2 5300 modules work great in my Dell Optiplex GX280 (running 64-bit Windows Server 2008), which maxes out at 4GB unless you know how to safely overclock your machine.I had upgraded the power supply to a 305-Watt PSU. I also added a 3.4GHz Intel Pentium 4 SL7Z7 processor, a 10,000RPM SATA hard drive, and a 7,200RPM backup hard drive. I removed my floppy drive and a CD burner, which I replaced with a DVD drive. Make sure you calculate your power consumption and purchase a power supply unit that can handle the load from all of the components if you choose to upgrade your system.

Value purchase
Very good product with outstanding price! Computers are great, except to upgrade, then it becomes confusing! Didn't know there was sooooo much different types of memory out there! And when I got this one, I thought it wouldn't fit, at its physical height is shorter than my installed chip. Long story short, I got it, it fit, and now it's faster!

Kingston RAM is workstation quality.
Memory by Kingston is good enough to turn an ordinary PC into a workstation. There are two matching Dell OptiPlex 755 SFF PCs in my office. One runs Windows 7. The other runs Windows 10. Both are Pro editions. They have the Core 2 Duo at 2.3GHz on 4GB of 667MHz DDR2. I put four matched 2GB sticks of Kingston RAM in there to double the memory of the Windows 10 machine. The Core 2 Duo is being swapped out with a Xeon 3036. This should vastly improve the system on its way to a second upgrade where the Seagate HDD is swapped out for a Kingston V300 SSD. The Seagate will become a project storage drive. Finally, an AMD Firepro W2100 will be put in for driving two 4K displays. It will be used for light rendering and photo post work, along with media proofing and source collection. In every machine I build, Kingston RAM is my first choice.

Perfect fit for my ASUS P5QL PRO motherboard
I had recently upgraded my operating system from XP 32 bit to Windows 7 - 64bit. One of the many positives of the 64 bit Windows 7 OS is that it can recognize more than 4 GB of RAM. I consulted the ASUS Memory Qualified Vendor List for my P5QL PRO motherboard and found that this memory module was listed. Needless to say it is a perfect fit. Installation was a breeze, even for a computer novice like me. The additional 4 GB of RAM was recognized immediately upon restart and has functioned perfectly ever since. (This was to be expected since every Kingston product that I have purchased has performed flawlessly.) I highly recommend this Kingston Value Ram.

Bought this for new pc build
I will be using this for a normal computer setup, nothing fancy. I am creating a computer for my dad and decided to buy this ram because of the quality from the brand. Kingston in my opinion is one of the top 5 producers of ram. The price was very cheap for 1gb ram, I know its not the best for a poweful pc but I am building a decent computer for browsing the internet for my dad. I would recommend this product for anyone who wants a decent pc.

Solid rock performance.
I purchased two of these ram back on December 12, 2011 , "I took the juice out of it", it was installed in a computer used by all the family, 24 hrs around the clock literally speaking, one of the ram failed last year (2016), the other one still working. I'll say that the failure was caused after we had a storm with lightning in our area; this incident tells me how good is this product ; I still have one of them working sharp and nice. I intend to purchase another RAM stick to replace the one that was damaged by a spike or voltage overload. I strongly recommend Kingston RAM line of product.
