Works wonders in old laptop
Having already replaced the hard drive in my desktop and Dell E6400 with a SSD version, the results were impressive so having 2 more old laptops laying around I purchased this one for an Compaq Presario CQ62.For some unknown reason I could not get the machine to recognise the drive and gave up with this one.Fitted it into a Dell Vostro 1520 with no issues and it has transformed the machine. It loads Win10 much faster and while it is not "blisteringly" fast, it is defiantly much much faster than it was and now back in everyday use.The old drive was very hot after a bit of use, the SSD almost stone cold, even after an hour. The fan on this Dell is quite noisy but with this hard drive running so cool the fan is not running full bore all the time, in fact its now almost silent for long periods. The best £20 I have spent for some time, just hope it gives me the life span of the old spinning HD's as in 25+ years never had one of those fail-now touching a big bit of wood.I have kept all the old hard drives with everything loaded so if I have any issues, I can just refit the original drive and I am back in business.Cheapest and easiest way to upgrade an old laptop with amazing results, very impressed.

Good value SSD
Works perfectly and easy to install. This would make a great upgrade for anyone with an older sata platter based drive. It's 2.5inch size means it can happily be installed into most laptops and provide silent operation. The speed increase can be dramatic if coming from an old drive. So far I've bought three of these for this purpose and feel this model represents the best "bang for buck" compromise of speed and capacity.

A good choice
Sept 2024 - 1Tb for £47.95Good price point, and Integral are one of the first manufacturers I look out for as a) I've had a good reliability experience with them and b) it's a UK company.Of course, it won't last forever, that's just the way it is with SSD's, so your mileage will vary depending upon your usage scenario, for my use case scenario, as long as it outlasts the 1Tb storage requirement, it will have done it's job.Due to the finite nature of SSD drives, price at time of purchase is super important, of course, the Read/Write speeds should be in the good/very good category without breaking the bank and this is a good choice.

Decent SSD for Freesat - would not trust for a computer.
This was bought to replace a 2Tb spinning hdd in a Freesat 4K recorder. The oem hard drives only last 2 years and then pack up. This was a straight replacement. No formatting or partitioning necessary. Machine's gui seems to run faster as it spends less time readingthe drive. Recording playback is buttery as well. All good for that use. I would NOT trust this in PC - likely to fail without warning. Stick to Crucial etc for that use.

SIMOLE USB TO Hardruce/SSD Adapter
This basic USB to hard drive adapter is compact and lightweight, making it highly portable. The build quality is generally decent for the price, whicj seems to be made from durable plastic. It includes a USB connector on one end and SATA connector on the other end to support Solid State Drives. Most of these adapters are compatible with 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard drives and SSDs, and this is adapter is no exception. These are plug and play straight out of the box, usuall work with both Windows and Mac operating systems without requiring additional drivers, I'm using WINDOWS 11 as no addition drivers for comparison. As mentioned above these adapters are plug-and-play, meaning they can be used right out of the box without any complicated setup. Simply connect the hard drive to the adapter, plug the USB into your computer, and the drive should be recognized immediately. In terms of performance, it's generally good for standard data transfer tasks. USB 3.0 models offer faster transfer speeds compared to USB 2.0 models, making them suitable for larger file transfers and backups. I havnt got EXACT numbers to compare it, with that said, this adapter was used for one purpose...to copy one operating system, HDD, to an SSD...which took around 1h.15ishLastly, this adapter provides you with a small but useful LED indicator for power and activity. This is incredibly useful to your eye, in the event that you may need tronleshooting, Light ON would indicate its not a problem with the adapter, light OFF would inidicate that it could be, with that said, use common sense. This can be useful depending on your specific needs**Pros:**- Affordable and readily available.- Easy to use with plug-and-play functionality.- Supports a variety of hard drives (SATA, SSD).- Portable and lightweight.**Cons:**- Build quality may vary, you pay for what you get.ConclusionA simple USB to hard drive adapter is an essential tool for anyone needing to access data from old hard drives or performing occasional backups. It offers a cost-effective and convenient solution, though it may not match the performance of more advanced docking stations or enclosures.

HP 15-BS559SA job done
Wasn't sure if this was going to work for my old HP laptop so thought I'd give it a try.Amazon prime, arrived next day as normal. Delivery person was trying to post it through the letterbox but I got there before they did. Assuming it would have survived the drop from letterbox to floor despite no padded packaging. However easy to install once you've dismantled the poor plastic HP build quality (sticker side up on the SSD for my laptop).Price was cheap and cheerful and does the job. I haven't tried benchmarking it but after transferring the files across my speed from on to loading windows and it being usable went from 6 mins to around 50seconds. Loads fast each time and usable the moment it's loaded. Saved mBinning the laptop or throwing it against a wall
