I think China but some are made in Vietnam

Q: How can we heat this up? By the blow dryer ??

Yes the metal barrel coated with a ceramic coating heats up with the hair dryer. Since the barrel gets hot, make sure to keep it away from any contact with skin when hot. Happy styling! ~ Olivia Garden

Q: Does the metal cylinder come off to clean the brush??

No but they do sell a small brush cleaner
