This was a drop-in (let's say direct replacement) for our old unit. It went in without a hitch and worked all summer. The price was much lower than local parts. This is a simple repair, but if you are a do it yourself person read up on safe practices amd follow them. Not really a savings if you send yourself to the hospital or die.

Replaced the relay on my 4 ton AC unit. Works fine. The wiring terminals are not the plate clamp or screw type. The are threaded lugs that are tapered on the ends. That would be fine with large diameter wire however. the results in the uses #10 AWG wiring not fitting is not in full contact of the surface of conductor I like. I ended up heavily tinning the leads with silver solder to have better electrical surface contact. I have had this relay installed for a month. The weather is very hot and the AC unit cycles every fifteen minutes. No issues seen or detected at this time. The startup amps of the condenser compressor and fan are momentarily at 97 amps. Then the running the load is 22 amps. The relay handles this fine. I went with a 40 amp relay verses a 30 as I know there is a voltage drop with the unit's power supply wiring is 55 feet with #10 AWG. That means higher amp draw and wear and tear on the relay contacts.

The cover over the actual switch part was cracked it overall works

Mounted in, fixed the AC, still working months later. Good product.

I had the world's greatest (company's worst? lol) AC repair guy come out to the house and show me that this part was malfunctioning. He told me that it would cost almost $300 to replace, but suggested that I could replace it myself after realizing that I know how to work on things. He showed me exactly which part to order and I had it replaced and running in about 15 minutes! Very satisfied with this purchase!

This contactor fit the exiting holes for mounting perfectly.My reason for replacing the 20 year old one was the open contacts and the loose fitting terminal connectors this one gives you the option to use terminal connectors or put the wire in a lug style connector. I went with the lug connector on this much better connection very happy with that and the fact it has a cover contact to keep out bugs and spiders.
