BLACKHAWKSERPA Level 3 Auto Lock Duty Matte Finish Holster, Size 25, Right Hand (S&W M&P 9/.357/.40 (w or w/o Thumb Safety)

After a long and frustrating hunt for a level 3 retention duty holster for my Smith and Wesson SD9 Service weapon, This one works great! My weapon is very secure and the holster is adjustable.

First my sd40ve perfectly. A bit costly, but this was the only level 3 holster I could find for my sidearm. (Level 3 is mandatory for Security and Law enforcement). Seems rugged. Hopefully it will stand the test of time.

I was really looking for a level 3 retention holster that would fit my Smith and Wesson SD9VE and truthfully I have found a holster that finally fits. It draws smooth and is a great holster for law enforcement. the size i got was "Size 25-S&W M&P 9/40" for mine if anyone is curious. One thing to mention is that it does feel a little stiff when pulling out the holster, but I personally don't have an issue with it, because after practicing of removing it from the holster, it has a smoother draw.

I know some people hate this design however, to me it's amazing. It has taken a beating and it is holding up great. I LOVE the releases. It's natural when drawing I can easily push the releases. Because of the hood instead of a strap it's easier to protect than a safariland. Only kind of negative is that it can't be unclipped from the belt like the new safailands can.

S&W SD9VE...Yes! I use the Smith and Wesson SD9VE as a duty firearm which is perfect, and i needed a tier 3 or level 3 holster for it. This worked perfectly. At first it does have to be "worn in" a little but that comes with practicing drawing and holstering. Finding a holster for the SD9VE is a little harder than most, but this one is a perfect match for it. The blackhawk #25! Totally recommend it!
