Much, much better then bird netting!
Every year my husband and I have struggled with bird netting on our blueberry bushes only to have the birds find a way in and eat all the fruit just as it was getting ripe. Not only was it a big hassle to put the netting on, in the end it didn't really help. These Agfabric bags are great. We ordered two of a smaller size and one of a larger size. The larger one did not have a zipper but it is huge, so no problem getting into it to harvest the fruit. They are light enough that they don' bend the bushes (much) and they are definitely getting enough light and water with the bags on. And, putting the bag over the bushes was a breeze as they are light and a little slippery. Their cost was well worth every cent. Very happy customer!

Love this Fruit Tree Cover would pay more for 1 more zipper
This is the perfect set up for my apricot and plum trees. The zipper makes it easy to put in place and to access the ripe fruit. The ribbon that gathers the fabric around the base of the canopy, up against the trunk, keeps climbing critters out. It also provides a net to catch ripe fruit that falls. The only thing I would recommend is adding a second zipper, to access ripe fruit from 2 sides. My apricot tree is just a little too wide for one cover. So, I bought a second cover, cut it in half, opened the stitching on the first cover and sewed the two together. Now I have a larger cover with a zipper on each side, perfection. The cover is strong enough to discourage a critter from biting through it. Something tried to eat a plum that dropped into the gathered fabric at the base of the tree canopy as described above. It gave up after a bite or two. I could see a squashed plum and juice all over the fabric around it, but it didn’t get in.No idea how it will hold up yet, we get strong sun here in S. Calif. So far so good, no bird or critter loss.

Works well with a lot of work (72" x 72" Agfabric Bird Netting).
I have used these covers on my four blueberry bushes two seasons. I struggled over the rating, because the covers worked better this year than the first year, but the zipper on one broke the first time I used it. While the mesh is very small and strong, a squirrel was still able to tear it enough to eat berries right at the hole (so the animal did not get through the cover) the first year. The cover is not advertised to protect against anything but birds and insects, but I'm thinking a very determined bird could tear this, too, especially a mockingbird, which LOVES blueberries. We had no problem with squirrels this year (the .22 likely had something to do with that).I bought overly large covers so I could tie them at the base of the bushes to seal against animals. The drawstrings worked well for this purpose, but the clips at the end of each string seem pretty flimsy, although you don't need the clips to tighten the cover around the base. There is ample room to wrap the base of the cover around the bush and tie it with rope, although that will entail more work, first to secure the cover, then getting to the bush to pick berries, then re-secure the cover...bushes yield several times a season, so this would get old.The overly large size was also enough to compensate for the broken zipper but only because the break was low on the cover, near the base, so I could fold it under to prevent there being an opening. BUT, if the zipper breaks much higher, the cover would be unusable. AND, even with the lower break, trying to use the cover on larger bushes (they do grow bigger every year) will at some point not be possible unless you are able to replace the zipper (not worth the time or expense) or sew the cover permanently closed.Having said all of that, I actually purchased another cover this spring to have as an extra just in case. I would really like to give three and a half stars, but can't, so to be fair, I gave four stars against my better judgment. Overall, I would recommend these if you purchase a larger size than needed. The photo doesn't show you much, but the covers are much taller than needed, the extra length folding over at the top. The width is quite ample to allow for bunching at the base of the bush, at least for two years and probably at least one more before the bushes grow too wide. The bending of the bushes is due to the weight of the berries, although when the covers get wet, they do press down on the bushes until they dry. The bushes, however, recover very quickly.

Cheap zipper
Great materal and good design idea but zipper broke as soon as I went to zip it down over my blueberry plants on 2 out of 4 bags. The zippers on these bags are terrible and super cheaply designed.

It works!
Ok. I have to say that I'm a long time back yard gardener with organic tendencies but not a absolutely diehard fanatic. After all, those pests sometimes need a dose of something. But in the search to protect my blueberries from the winged, four legged, and two legged( little boy) raiders, this product struck gold. The mesh is heavy duty and easily slid right over my very mature 6 foot bushes without snagging any berries. It was was easy to put on and off as I needed to pick every few days. When I was finished with the covers, it was easy to wash in mild soapy water and line dry to get the dirt off of the bottom. 2 drawbacks that I am ok with: 1- The weight on the top bent my bushes over. Next year I plan to put an inside support into place for that; 2- A zipper lost its grip halfway up on 1 of the covers. And this time I can't even blame the husband. I will be ordering more and have recommended this product to several other serious gardeners. I am eyeing my squash plants as I am infested with borer beetles to see it there is a small version of this product.

It works, with one caveat!
It does exactly what it is supposed to do. I tried using sheets of mesh, but the critter (never seen, but suspected squirrel) easily found its way in. This bag does the trick! The zipper makes it easy to install and remove for picking fruit or pruning. However, I found that the drawstring on the bottom (to seal the bag at the trunk) is a nice idea but, at least for me, not really workable. I used velcro straps to make the bag tight against the bottom of the trunk and it works perfect!! This product is a simple solution to a pesky problem--well done! (and for the price, you cannot go wrong)
