This is the Goldilocks rig for me. I tried the rhinoceros rig and that was simply too much. This half rig gives you protection, cold shoe, arca comparability, a ton of mounting points and magnetized tool. You don't need that bulk, just get this half cage.

Just wanted to mention this as when I purchased it no reviewers have mentioned compatibility with the A7R5.Didn't end up being great for my purposes, but that doesn't take away from the product.I wanted to use my flash with my mic on the cold shoe and there isn't quite enough room as built, I'll have to get an adapter.

Product is great and just what I was looking for. SmallRig has really built up its reputation in the creator's community. Although you can purchase other off-brand rigs for your camera I decided to buy SmallRig because of such reputation.Nevertheless, after some trial and error I managed to figure how to install it to my camera as the packaging did not include any instruction manual. Not a big deal but for a brand as big as this one, it's the small things that make a difference. Which is why I am giving this review a 4/5 stars.

The media could not be loaded. Fits the A7IV like a glove!

It's not designed for the A7iii but will fit onto it! You won't be able to use the anti twist screw that adds a little extra stability, but honestly you don't need it unless you're adding a bunch of extra accessories onto the cage. In that case, you might as well get the full cage anyway.If you're a minimalist video guy or switch back and forth between photo & video, this is a great product!

Great quality, definitely like the half cage, no need to for a full one in my opinion. The best part is it comes with a little allen wrench which could be used to tighten a tripod plate as well and sits at the bottom of the cage. Just that little feature makes all the difference when you need one.

Does exactly what I need without getting in the way of the camera’s functionality.
