We now own two of these!
We already have a Nomad Mini, and love it, so we decided to purchase a second unit! While you're limited to the length of the hose, it's a great way to explore the shallow reefs, clean the bottom of your boat, or just sit in your pool, underwater, for an extended period of time! Had to reach out to customer support regarding something basic and they were quick to respond! Highly Recommend if you're in the market. Be sure to go through the training too.. Great information.

You'll love this for diving off the Beach!
What can I say...... It made beach diving so much better!!!! No heavy tanks to pack around and this fits perfectly back into it's case. Works exactly as if you had a tank on your back. People at the beach were loving our Nomad as well. You will definitely not be disappointed. We added a spare air to the vest strap in case we were down and we ran out of battery. But before it runs out, it will give you a short notice but we were never really diving down it's max capacity. We bought this because we saw someone else who was using it to dive down to it's capacity and was amazed at it's performance.

Recalled
wow I booked a whole vacation around using this to go Aruba. I have spent the money on the trip and now I have NO scuba Hookah. After getting a recall notice and seeing another one from a different company that had the wires burn in the unit. It makes me afraid to trust one any of them. Sad :(

Good idea, bad hose
So “hookah” air systems have been in use by divers for a long time—if you watch documentaries on Sealab you can see Navy divers using a hose based breathing system back in 1964 outside the capsule. I was planning on doing some shallow reef and harbor diving in the Virgin Islands and ordered this for that purpose to avoid having to rent all my equipment ( I am open water qualified). However, when I assembled the unit and used it in a swimming pool (as they reccommend in the online training) I felt like I was getting a low air delivery. I thought it was my breathing so I slowed it deliberately, but no improvement. I though the battery wasn’t charged all the way so I double checked, not that either. When I got back in the pool I had my wife watch from topside and she saw a dual stream of air bubbles coming out of the hose about 6 feet from the base unit. Sure enough, there were two tiny pin size almost invisible holes. Right out of the box, defective. No issues with the battery, electronics, pump, etc. But honestly the hose is your most critical point of failure, and it shipped defective—poor QC. Apparently BLU3 does zero QC or inspections on their hoses? Anyway it was unsafe to take into the ocean in my opinion and so was returned. Also the fix is the either order a $50 patch kit or return it for repairs under warranty. Returning the unit to get fixed would mean I would be unable to take it on my trip anyway due to turnaround time, so I sent it back. No way was I going to pay for a patch kit for an out of the box defect.Just as an additional observation I noticed that the majority of reviews on YouTube are fresh water lake treasure hunters, people using it for boat maintenance or if in the ocean in VERY calm, perfect conditions. In my opinion the unit would be bouncing up and down all over the place in moderate waves, and would probably be colliding with or wrapping around pilings when diving in a harbor/pier environment. Also you sign a waiver saying you use it at your own risk and they are not responsible if you get injured or die using the system. Convenient when they ship faulty air hoses. Also if you are even remotely considering using the Nomad in the sea descending to 25-30 feet, get a pony tank and be a certified diver for safety. If you are using it as a “advanced snorkel” in fresh water where you could stand up or are at 10 feet depth its probably pretty safe.

Works better than expected. Very good design thought in professional product.
Many thoughtful design decisions went into this superb product.I was a certified scuba diver years ago, dove up to 90 feet down. I have not scuba dived in decades, and expected some transition time. None, it worked easy the first time, a lot of fun!The pulsating effect was not noticeable after just five minutes of use. At greater depths, the pulsing becomes constant when breathing in, actually a comfortable feeling.Being tethered to the Nomad is not a problem. The harness works very well, and the drag of the Nomad and hose was not really noticeable, more comfortable than wearing scuba tanks. The hose itself is a great design, feels good, bends easily, is very light, and stretches slightly. Too Cool! The Nomad was packaged superbly, just as on the videos. Setup was quick. So many thoughtful design features, this machine is very easy for casual diving without a lot of prep, or much cleanup time after. Very easy to carry and transport. The battery is well designed, and the connection is waterproof and very reliable: it inspires confidence. Swapping batteries is easy. I got the spare battery at the same time, but not the backup air tank.I highly recommend the BLU3 Nomad!-- Ken Hoganson

Wanted a little more air.
I liked the packaging/ back pack it has a place for you flippers on the outside but needs a protective place for your mask. I have used it a few times. It's nice I can just change the battery and continue. However when you are diving from the shore, snorkle out till you get to where you want to. Also practice on a pool to get us to it. The black super on the vent. Don't push it all the way down or it limits your air in take. Pull it out a little bit make sure it's still secure. The first time I tried it I pushed the black stopper all the way down cause the directions said not to lose the the black stopper and felt like I couldn't get a full breathe. Other than that worked great. I could stay under for over 45 minutes. Though when it gets low on air I didn't feel it vibrate it just got harder to breathe.

Product arrived With a broken battery door and missing a battery. Had some trouble using Amazon to get ahold of the company so I called Blu3 directly and after a few calls I was able to talk with a live person who was willing to get me a replacement battery door and fix the missing battery problem. The fact that I was able to reach a live person is great in a company and shows that they stand by there product. Much appreciated to Blu3 for making things right and caring about there customers.
