Great in most situations
Heavy duty steel and a simple, functional design which I'm sure is superb in most situations. However, the bar is not long enough for my doors as there is molding that has to be spanned. Also, and this is my fault for not looking more closely at the product description, two of my doors need a 90-degree latch, a situation in which these won't work. Still give five stars for a sturdy, easy-to-install product.

Secure Sliding Glass Doors
These door hook latch locks are easy to use and work great. I had to drill eight holes with a metal 1/8" drill bit to install them, but once I did, they provide a secure closure for my sliding doors. I just got a sliding door pet door and plan to add these latches to the door insert to secure it to the wall and the sliding door.

Great latch, wimpy hardware
I've bought three of these now and for the price they are worth it. Substantial quality. But the screws supplied are wimpy. Holes need to be pre drilled into wood large enough as not to strip the heads. Even using a hand held screwdriver they strip out. Best to replace before mounting or it's permanent.

As described
Exactly as described. The exact same as the one I had to replace. Functions properly and smoothly. Easy to install. Size is exact. The look is pleasing.

Very Secure
The material type is not plastic as noted on the sales page. Mine seems like stainless steel and is very sturdy. I bought it after my 8' patio slider handle broke and the replacement was not an exact fit so it would no longer latch correctly. With this latch we are totally secure and don't have to worry about break-ins unless they break through the glass that is. I recommend it.

Will fit perfectly
This lock worked perfectly to secure my sliding glass door. I am installing it up high to help keep children from being able to access the pool

Much easier to use than an Eye Hook Latch
Simple to use, strong and secure. I'll use this type of latch from now on.

Great concept, but could be better
I ordered several of these to install. Two went on my french doors, top and bottom for extra support. One is on an entrance door. They were very easy to install, screws provided were ok, not too much but not too little. You could install with longer screws for added support. I was able to adjust for uneven door flush as the trim stuck out more than the door. Latch still workable. The design flaw would be that there needs to be more of the pin coming out of the latch. There is a long enough flang, but if there were at least 1/2 inch or 1 inch coming out of latch, it would work better. I was able to shake the door enough to get the pin to move out of the latch. We figured out if we moved the pin latch higher than the insert latch, it would put enough twist on pin so it wouldn't move if shaken. All and all the latch is made with good quality, and it is mfg in the USA..
