Indispensable
I just bought another one of these today simply to have a spare should I misplace the one I've had for years. I've been using the Husky's version (sold at Home Depot) for 5 or 6 years, and it is a lifesaver in tight places where a regular ratchet has no swing room, and it is an arm saver when you can simply twist bolts and nuts on and off without having to swing the tool. Its clever design that ratchets in ONE DIRECTION as you twist back and forth is the key feature. Also, it works just like a regular ratchet if you don't twist it, so you can generate a lot of torque if needed as well. The tool takes a beating too. The Stanley and Husky tools appear identical excepting color and branding. Probably made at the same source. I consider this tool a major convenience tool on par with the Gearwrench. Both have made some formerly time-consuming nut and bolt operations a total snap. I've encountered some situations where it might take 20 minutes of face-by-face turns of a nut or bolt to remove it with a traditional wrench or ratchet, where these tools have them out in 20 seconds. So, I rarely us any other ratchet at all any more.

Great tool. You'll wonder how you did anything without it.
1. The physical quality of the tool is top-notch. It's sturdy. It's weighted well. It's ergonomic for all types of hands. You can drop it and not worry a bit. You can use it forever and not worry about it failing.2. The usefulness of this tool is also top-notch. The ability to socket nuts with virtually zero turn angle is PHENOMENAL. Recently, I had to get three car batteries out of some really old cars where the engineers obviously didn't care about the mechanics. What I mean is I have no idea how anyone could get the battery loose without this tool. There was no room to maneuver and this tool was a complete savior.3. The price is wonderful. No matter where you get it, this thing is worth it. I tried to find it at Wal-Smart and couldn't. So I ordered it here and got the two-day shipping. It was worth it and I'd do it again. Is this going to do everything in your garage or toolbox? Nope. But what it does, it does VERY well. Hands down a great buy.

Works, but I wish the head was smaller
This item seems rugged and well made. It does what it is intended to do. The ratchet steps are small and positive, the direction switch works well and does not easily change direction by rubbing in tight places. The bottom line is if you can get on a loose bolt or nut with this ratchet, you can screw or unscrew till your heart is content with a twist of the wrist.Unfortunately, getting this tool deployed can be frustrating. First, the head of the ratchet is larger than typical ratchets, and it doesn’t fit well in tight spaces where you need this tool to function well. In addition to the large size, the head is also very floppy. Many times I needed this tool to engage and function in a spot where there was no room for a supporting hand or another tool, and these spots were usually just barely in reach with one hand. Holding the bulbous twisting handle while trying to finagle the floppy head into position for bolt and nut manipulation was challenging. The head had to be turned, twisted, and contorted to get in the tight space, and by then it had flopped to the opposite side, away from the nut it needed to release.Regarding the size of the head, this may be an unfair gripe. The mechanism allowing both traditional and twisting ratchet action may prevent shrinking the head, but it seems possible that something could be done to temporarily lock and unlock the rotational position of the head relative to the handle. This feature would allow for easier engagement in tight spots, where this tool is intended to be used. All in all, this is a quality tool that performs as advertised. I have used it where no other of my tools would work, and I am sure I will use it again in the future.

A game changer
This ratchet is no gimmick - it is a revelation. It will transform the way you ratchet. For me, it is almost as fast as an air ratchet. A key detail is that twisting the handle in either direction turns the socket in the direction that you want, so there is no wasted motion. Just grab the handle and wiggle your wrist, and the socket spins really fast. The conventional ratchet motion is stronger than I am, so I don't worry about using it to break bolts loose. There are only two down sides. First, the head is larger than a typical ratchet, so you need a regular ratchet for really tight spaces. Second, especially with a swivel extension, you need enough room to grab the ratchet with both hands - one to stabilize the ratchet head, the other to twist the handle.Edit: I forgot to mention that I like this ratchet so much that I bought 3 more as gifts for family and friends. They all dig it too!

Great for every day use, including bolts or nuts in impossible tight spots
Lifetime warranty by Stanley tools, great design. This tool can turn a socket the traditional way, similar to a wrench, as well as a 90 degree offset screwdriver! The ratchet also runs at 360 clicks per rotation so it should be your new go-to ratchet for nearly every application. I put my trusty 35 year old old ratchet into the dust bin of history with this one taking its place.I learned of this from an ex-military vet who works for a home generator company. He was using his Stanley magic ratchet to get at a lock bolt in a awful place, making it look easy. He showed it to me, giving me tool envy. I’ve busted many knuckles trying to do the impossible with situations this tool will make far easier.Buy it. They make a ¼” too. It is on my watch list due to its high price, but if it comes down 20%, I’ll buy it as well.

Not the ratchet in the add
This is a scam its a stanley ratchet with comfort grip handle but not a rotator ratchet and this cant even be a mistake as its being sold without the packaging but the numbers are stamped in the iron handle before the chrome was done its value is half of the price and i dont need another notmal ratchet so its been returned
