Secure effective fixing for a 4ft Heavy(ish) Bag
First of all this product was perfect for my needs. The 600 lb tolerance mentioned in the specification is probably for the steel bracket (600 lbs = 272 Kilograms). I hung a 4 ft bag weighing 20 Kg (20 Kilograms = 44 Pounds), anchored into a concrete ceiling. Other reviewers mentioned meagre quality of supplied shield bolts for concrete fixing. I bought additional robust shield bolts just in case. Nice that they were thrown in though, along with screws for woodfixing. Another reviewer had a wear issue through the steel baseplate eyelet, it appeared worn as if by a steel cable. This set came complete with a secure eyebolt pin & plastic bushes to fix through the baseplate eyelet. All good, smooth & quiet. Dabbed a little oil on the swivel-bolt section as a precaution. Once all the spring connections were complete, the bag was added. At 20 kg its not the heaviest bag, but the spring & all other parts functioned very well. The spring extended slightly under 20 kg weight & it's action has performed well with energetic use i.e. absorbing the shocks, reducing whiplash stress on bag, bracket & straps. Very quiet, swivel motion just as silent. Very happy. I haven't tested the spring scientifically, but judge you could use this spring with weights up to 50 kg, but that is a geusstimate. The fixing plate says it will take 42 stone, so if your using it as an achor for other items. If you need an anchor for really heavy things (6 person hammock... engine block), do the maths, stay safe. This bracket could easily hold a very heavy bag, with a heavier load spring.

Spring was a total failure
Unsure as to where the tests were completed in regard to the Spring but have to say it was rather fanciful to state within the advert that it would take a load of 350lb without damaging the spring. The rest of the product does what it says and was 5 stars but the spring failed at the first attempt of my son sitting in hammock chair. It took the weight and expanded as expected but failed to return to its original shape once he had stood up. For info my son weighs 203lbWill need to return which is very frustrating as this is a massive inconvenience. Not best pleased.
