Q: Where do attach the wings for the small crane?

The small crane does not have detachable wings. We’ve had ours for 3 years and sealed them with a clear spray sealer when new and they still have rusted. They are in full sun most of the day in a hot dry climate. I will be repainting soon. The larger bird’s wings broke in a 30mph wind, but they still look nice without.

Q: What type of metal are they? Premium quality metal does not address this nor help in weathering/refinishing concerns.

I really wish they would allow us to put still pictures on these things. I do not know what type of metal it is made of, but it has a copper colored finish with patina either brushed on or aged onto maybe copper plated metal. I have had mine for over a year, and there are no signs of rust or corrosion of any kind. The patina still looks like it did when I first got it. I have it displayed in the shade of a grapefruit tree next to a building, so it is only semi exposed to the elements.

I had the same problem so I placed bricks on the flat part.....you could also use something like a landscaping tie...a U shaped piece of wire tacked into the ground holding the frame.
