Q: Do i need to use soda ash on my items before applying dye?

Not at all the kit had everything I needed. It was great fun and the t shirts look great

Q: Is the dye fixed i.e. doesn't run into other clothes in the washing machine?

I haven't had any problems with colour running. Probably best not to put in with white clothes though.

Q: How long do i have to leave dye on?

We put ours in separate bags & left them overnight, then hung them on the line to dry , left them a few days before washing them. Just dip them in cool soapy water as some dye comes out!! It's a great kit with loads of paint, had a great evening with Grandchildren.

Q: What material can I use when I am dying clothes

I used white cotton t shirts and the colours were brilliant. After dyeing and rinsing I soaked them in water with a good helping of salt and vinegar, left overnight and then washed as normal. This helped to lock in the colours.
