I bought the SoleTech Solflex Diamond Crepe, the sheet was 18" x 35.5". You may want to check the company's website for your specific material.

Q: is this the type that can be molded to the foot?

Yes, as described in the product description it is thermomoldable. Instructions can be found on SoleTech's website. I believe it is 250 degrees for 2 minutes

Q: I need a product to make soles that are very inflexible (hard, firm, unbendable) will this product be very firm?

This product is intended to 'lift' soles - i.e. for use between the ground-contacting sole and the lower shoe surface - thus, is not what you need.

Q: What is the best way to cut the 1/2 inch sole?

I trace the outline of the piece I want by scoring it with an awl (or just the edge of something sharp.) Then I cut the piece along that line (as deep as is manageable) with a utility knife. Then I bend the crepe along the cut-line, to break away whatever part I couldn’t cut through. After I’ve got the piece completely cut out, I glue the soling in place, and grind it flush with the rest of the sole using a belt sander (or even sandpaper and a carpet knife, in a pinch).
