Mmmmm! Rennett Pudding!!!
Mom Sylvia (who burned almost everything she cooked) did a Decent Job of making Rennet Pudding (Junket Puddings used to come in boxes like Jello Pudding - with flavors and it was quick and easy to make. Oh how I LOVED it!!!!Nowadays all I can find are the tablets but I cook a lot better than Mom (even tho I am a lazy cook).I merely take the required amount of milk or even better - half and half in a small bowl -- add vanilla and sugar -- put the Junket tablet in a small 3 oz cup half filled with water so it dissolves, throw some water in the hotshot until it boils, and then add that hot water to heat up the half and half to lukewarm-ish -- THEN stir in the now dissolved tablet and let it sit for a while until I stick it in the fridge to firm up -- the results are splendid.

A necessity for homemade ice cream
This product is becoming difficult to find in the stores, so I'm just ordering on Amazon from now on. We use this instead of the ice cream mix because it's just basically a thickening agent with food starches. It doesn't change the taste of anything. In fact, it allows the full flavor of the homemade ice cream to be centerpoint. I'm also surprised at how many young adults don't make homemade ice cream or haven't tasted it. We'll never stop making it because of the social interaction and the simple ingredients. AND we now use an electric maker instead of the crank....our arms give out too quick!

Best icecream
I have been buying Junket tablets for many years now and they are getting difficult to find. But, I found these at Amazon.com. This is a great product for making home made icecream. I get raves whenever I make it. Be sure it is the tablets and not the powder. I modify the receipe a bit to suit my taste. I put in less sugar, less vanilla, and less cream. (Put in a bit more milk to compensate) It turns out great. Use a lot of salt in the ice to make and keep it cold.

Best way to make homemade ice cream!
Junkets (not the mixes or glavor packets) make the very best homemade ice cream. No need for eggs—just the basic, delicious ingredients. This is what I grew up with, but it’s getting harder to find plain junkets in the grocery store.

I used to use this a long time ago.
Still haven't made home made cheese, but makes good pudding and fudgsicles. Haven't made homemade ice cream yet. Want to see if my milk intolerant son can tolerate milk with the rennet. He says he can eat cheese, but can't have any other milk products. I think it's because the rennet in the cheese makes milk more digestible.

Great for homemade custard and ice cream
Couldn't find this in stores, a throwback to my childhood days of rennet custard! And the price was much better in the 10 pack.For those who gave it "OMG" 1 star reviews cuz it comes from a cow, read the product DESCRIPTION before you buy, and review the product not your biases (noting vegetarian tablets are available also).

It's so easy to use
I wish this stuff was still sold in grocery stores. It is very difficult to find, except online. I use it to make custard --- a very light and easy-to-make custard that my whole family loves --- and also in my ice cream recipes. It's so easy to use, includes several pages of recipes, including those for cheeses, and I find this product to be invaluable. I buy a case at a time, it's that good.

What a different dessert....
I had never used anything like this but my boyfriend remembered it from years ago. I decided I'd try to find it and try and it was a big hit. I added maple syrup in place of the vanilla and it had a wonderful taste. I want to try more of the recipes that come with it. Simple to use.
