Hefty and good
This thing is HEFTY. For some terrible reason the factory ones are hollow; at some point mine started rusting and broke clean apart. But this thing is SOLID. Weighs a ton but I doubt it’s going anywhere. Install was ok, however the slight point on it interferes with the catalytic converter when it’s not under load. It was fine once I dropped the car though100% worth it

A "Must Have" upgrade for 2006 Impala, and similar 9th Gen Chevy.
Even with the best Pro tips for replacing the front sway bar on a 9th Gen. Impala, it's still a pain, but worth the effort. This is best done on a lift instead of jack stands. This is because there's no way to get the old one out, and the new one in without dropping the sub-frame. That is what makes the entire process difficult.Once installed and properly centered, and bolted down, it's definitely worth the trouble. It's heavy gauge, solid construction, and perfect fit, makes it the best thing you could do to your Chevy. Mine handles and drives like a new car...WITH AN ATTITUDE!Since I replaced the sway bars on the front and back, I've done some test driving through an auto-cross course to find out how the car will handle. My time improved over the pre-install drives, and the handling is five times better. It's tight in the turns, and stays pretty flat now. Totally worth it! Now, it's time to shop for speed parts.

Superior Handling after Bar installation ('99 G. Prix SE)
Dealer said factory hollow sway bar on 1999 3.1L G.Prix was rusting (live in PA) & it had a loose tie rod end. Ordered 2 new Amazon Moog tie rod ends & this Dorman Sway Bar. Saved $25 over Autozone. Studied on-line videos & I did the R&R job in 2 days, in about (7) hrs. total with non-power tools (no Air ratchet). Following the Buick/GMC dealer then did a 4 wheel alignment. I am 60+ yo non-professional. btw-I also own a 2005 3.8 L Grand Prix SE.After replacing 1999 Grand Prix Sway bar this car handles so much better, like night & day. This new thicker, solid sway bar keeps the front tires "glued to the road" & the car seems be flatter in the turns over the 2005. Now I enjoy driving "99 much more vs. '05 G. Prix hands down. Very pleased. The 2005 Grand prix has a different type sway bar so replacement isn't an option yet. USE CAUTION If you lower the rear engine sub-frame. True it makes the R&R job Easier but you could compromise the steering shaft link connection to the steering rack resulting in loss of steering!! I had the Dealer ensure that pinch bolt was secure when I had the alignment done, (was not charged to check). Dorman Sway bar = Great product.

WINNER
Perfect fit, better solid steel design, easier to insert, includes all stabilizer link parts.

Good bar, marginal bushings
This bar is much heavier than the stock one and fits fine both the normal way and upside down (for downpipe/header clearance). I like that the bolts are aluminized or something, as corrosion inside there has ended the life of many end links. It's also nice that everything you need is included (except bushing lube) - new bushings, brackets, bolts and end-links. The end link bushings seem pretty cheap, though. I had it apart after 1 week of driving and already see wear on them. I would advise re-using the stock rubber if you still have it, with the Dorman bolts. Still, for the price, the end links are kind of a freebie.(Installed on 2000 Regal GS)

Good value.
It was a good value for the money and the installation was very easy on my 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette.

Better than OEM
No harder to install than you’d expect. Much heavier and more solid than OEM sway bar. Took all of the play out of the steering wheel.

DO NOT TRUST FITMENT "CHART." THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT FIT CHEVY VENTURE 2004
I am writing this review mid way through a disastrous Amazon episode (the worst of very, very few and I buy everything through Amazon). To start, the "first" sway bar was sent to me and I received a large box with a hole in the bottom/ side. Surprise, UPS delivered it to my doorman who signed for it not realizing the item inside should weigh a lot. Long story short I shipped back the unopened box and Amazon sent a replacement. So far so good,, or so I thought. I should point out here that I double checked the fitment guide at Amazon, so when the replacement arrived (in a much sturdier box, marked appropriately/ Heavy/ Fragile) I threw out the box as I had no need to store a 6 ft box in my NYC apt. See where this is going? After the mechanic takes apart the old bar and tries to fit the new... NO JOY!! It doesnt fit. He showed me the old bar and we compared it together. The bends in this bar are NOT the same, in fact, in some areas the bend is opposite where it should be (Defect??). The bar is marked drivers side down but the mechanic tried either way it WILL NOT work. It is off by more than an inch!!! An unscrupulous Mechanic might try to jury rig something and be done but ultimately it is NOT a direct replacement for a 2004 Chevy Venture. Not even close. Now I am out of the mechanics cost, no sway bar and Amazon wants to charge me a re-stocking fee because their fitment chart is faulty!! I can't legally drive the car because the OEM sway bar is considered safety equipment. I am waiting til Mon to see what Dealership will cost. I am already out of extra cash... a res-stocking fee!!!??? Are you kidding me. What the heck is the point of a fitment chart anyway????!! I KNOW what kind of vehicle I drive... Shouldn't this be a no brainer!!??
