Great mid-sized fixed blade with great sheath.
I really like what Schrade has with the I-Beam fixed knife, it falls in the middle of pocket knife and your firewood chopping big knives. The G-10 handle is very hard, but it does have a texture to it for gripping, but I just had to drip 1 star for being as hard as it is, it might feel totally different to you though. The blade is solid as a rock, and what surprised me the most, is how good the sheath is. Schrade doesn't even talk about it, or show a picture of it, but it is as nice a hard sheath as I've gotten. No wiggle or movement when the blade is in, and you get a positive snap when you put your blade back in.The profile on the blade is great, lots of belly to it, so should be a good skinning knife, and the spine is thick enough that you could make shavings, or split small logs with it. It is a great overall knife in my opinion, I just wish those G-10 scales weren't so hard you feel like they might break if you hit them.7-26-23Rev.1 Just looked at this again and the price has dropped $4.00 off what I paid for it the first time. Yeap, buying a back-up in case the first one grows legs. Also, the G-10 scales start to feel better every time I use it, so I bumped it up to 5 stars. Totally justified, and I'm not getting anything for free, just like this knife in my hands when I'm working. 10-28-23

sheath to belt attachment .. weak
i like the knife .. no problems there. where this falls short is the sheath to belt CLIP .. open that the bottom; something like a pocket knife clip but wider. i carry this type of knife handle down ... i don't trust the provided clip to hold as i move around the forest.

There are better deals for the money.
The fit and finish is pretty good for this price point, however, the blade is suprisingly thin and the point a bit too delicate. I could actually flex the blade a little. The grip panels are unusually large and blocky, it felt oversized for my medium-ish sized hands. Filing as the grip panels didn't help very much. The ergonomics were not meant for my hands. The balance is qute grip-heavy.Would not buy again.
