Q: Some are pictured with a cosmetic case and some are not. Does the matching case come with each tote or only certain ones?

I think what appears to be the cosmetic case is the bag. When it arrives, it is that small. I was quite concerned that it was not going to be what i wanted, but it opens into a large bag.

Q: Can this bag be used as checked luggage?

This is a great bag. I went on vaction and it helded 3 pair of shoes. 3 large bath towels. Summer shorts 4 pair, 4 tops, a purse, 4 house dresses, 2 bathing suits and I still had room left. It is very easy to carry and it has 2 shoulder straps. I love it. Recommended to buy.

Q: Does this come with a pouch as advertised?

There is not a separate pouch. The bag actually comes folded inside of itself which creates the pouch. Once you unfold the bag however there is no longer a pouch.
