Would have preferred a screw to hold in the SSD
The device itself has been working flawlessly. It's a great value for the money. ButI have gripes that prevent me from giving it a 5 star rating. The silicone nub that's used to hold the SSD blade in place is tricky to install, and the instructions are not a lot of help in getting it and the SSD blade installed correctly. I ended up first seating the silicon nub into the hole on the board, then worked the nub around the notch in the SSD. The instructions could have been better. I really would have preferred a screw to hold the blade. The idea to attach the USB-C to USB-A adapter to the plug is nice, but awkward if you only want to use a USB-C connector. The adapter ends up flopping on the cable, potentially interfering with other closely spaced USB-C ports. Would have been better to make it fully detachable so that I didn't have to cut the plastic piece holding the adapter to the cable.I'm not a fan of the need to stick the "rubbery" thermal strip on both the SSD and another metal heat sink before re-insertion into the case. I guess it was needed to provide the "tool-free" slide-in, slide-out installation.I'm used to an OWC TB3 enclosure and the build quality of this enclosure isn't up to what OWC provides. On the other hand it doesn't cost anywhere near what the OWC enclosure did.

JUNK///CONSTANT I/O ERRORS
Bad controller. Got constant I/O errors when attempting to move media. Ended up slotting the drive directly into my computer after process of elimination to determine if the drive was going bad and I have found that it is the enclosure itself. I really wanted to like it but it's ultimately junk. I do not recommend.

Good, basic, NVME SSD enclosure
TL;DR: Solid enclosure body, flawed design with the trays, sucks that this is really two separate NVME "docks" inside one metal enclosure instead of something more sophisticated. Mine appeared slightly used.I really debated whether I should give this enclosure 3 or 4 stars. On the one hand, it does what it says it does. I was initially bummed that there wasn't just one USB-C connector to connect the enclosure to the PC which would give access to both drives, but it does state that in the description and it was my fault for not reading it clearly. On the other, there are some design flaws with this product that I will get into. Here's the good. The enclosure seems very sturdy. It seems to be made out of one piece of aluminum. The drives don't need any additional power and are immediately recognized (at least in Windows 11).The benefit of not needing an extra power cord is nullified by the fact that you need a separate USB-C cord to connect the second drive. So, if you want to use this enclosure for 2 drives, as intended, then you will still be stuck with 2 wires coming out of it.The other issue is with how the trays fit into the enclosure. When I received the item, the trays were inserted into the enclosure and while they have a retaining switch mechanism to keep them from sliding out of the enclosure, the mechanism didn't work at all. I had to hold the back of the tray while plugging in the USB cable so it wouldn't slide out. The slider switch didn't seem to do anything. I was going to give it 2 stars and point this out, but decided to explore further. It turns out that the trays were in the enclosure upside-down. This was absolutely not obvious and they came inserted this way. The enclosure looks the same externally from all angles. When I flipped them the right way and pushed them back in, they locked just fine. This seems to be a pretty basic design flaw. You can insert the trays into the enclosure for either side but if you insert it from the wrong side, it won't slide all the way in. When you insert it from the correct side it will slide all the way in right-side-up or upside-down. However, only when you insert it from the right side and right-side-up will the retaining mechanism hold the tray shut properly.Lastly, my item appeared like a return, or slightly used. There was open packaging inside the box. Everything seems to be present, so I would probably have kept it if some of the other issues outlined above weren't present.
