2 Set Mountain Bike Brake Cable Gear Cable Wire and Cable End Crimps Kit

I've purchased a couple of these and they are excellent. I run a small bike shop out of my garage and I keep a stock of these on hand at all times for quick replacements. The price is very reasonable and the quality is good and they're nice and long so they work in a variety of bikes.

I was able to replace the brake cable on an older 24 inch Schwinn Moundtain bike in about 25 minutes. Threading the cable was easy. I found I have to play with the bike's a adjustments to get the pad distance set again, but that comes with the teritory, when you get into one of these adventures. I cut the cable to lenth with wire cutters, and crimped the end cap. Looks and behaves like new. Saved some $$ vs. taking it into the bike place, and the hassle of having someone working on it, then having to pick it up later. I am nor really sure why others had problems with this product, since it worked great for me!

I like the value of this kit. it has 4 MTB brake cables and 4 shift cables, end caps and frame spacers - everything you need for two bikes. The cables are packaged very well and are tinned on the ends to avoid fraying. The only complaint is the poor finish of the anchors. There is aluminium flash (casting fins) on the barrels and wire from the die cast process that prevents them from fitting into to the brake lever slots - see photo. I filed off the the fins and the flash around the barrel. I just installed them. They slide smoothly. I hope the quality of the anchor bond is good.

I have a 2015 Raleigh Misceo Trail 2.0 hybrid bike. It's equipped with Shimano disc brakes, which I've never really worked on before. The other day, the rear brake cable snapped and so I went looking for a replacement cable. I didn't really want to change out the conduit, so I was hoping I'd be able to find just the bare cable and hopefully one that'd be compatible with the disc brakes. Looking on Amazon, I couldn't find anything that specific, so I took a gamble and bought this kit. Though this cable isn't exactly the same thickness (it's a little thinner, probably by a mm or two), it does work in the existing conduit and was easily swapped in within 5 minutes. The brakes pull beautifully and the cable seems to be of good quality. The best part? I've got several extras just in case something like this happens again. For the money, you can't beat this kit.

I needed to do an emergency repair on the rear brake of a tandem bike. I am glad I bought this product because the cable length is 80" while other products on Amazon are only 70" long, which would not have worked for me. The quality is very good and it is packaged very well. I now have three more brake cables and 4 shifter cables for future use.Highly recommended.

One of the dangers of using a mobile phone for ordering is the pictures are too small to see critical details. This cable set is useless if you have damaged or worn outer cable housings, because no outer housing material is included. Amazon returns have become more difficult (UPS), so I will just throw this in the spare parts (junk) bucket. I have ordered a more complete set already.
