Dual monitor switch? No thanks.
Where I work they have some really cool boxes on the desk that plug into a USB-C/Thunderbolt port on a laptop and magically you have 3 monitor display (inc. the laptop one), mouse and keyboard 'plumbed in'.I looked into getting similar for home working. The particular one from work is around £300, assuming you can even get hold of one. So I used a display-HDMI cable for a bit, but really missed that extra monitor.I bought one of these cables only to find that the laptop works with either cable; but not both at once. The laptop also has two USB-C style connections on it, so I took a gamble on getting another cable fully expecting it not to work at the same time too, and that I'd be returning it.But it does work. Brilliantly.I also have a switchable wireless KB, and wireless mice, so the only thing that is different is less cables and two mice on the desk rather than one. (I have 3 monitors and the third one and second mouse lets me also use my own PC, so this really isn't a problem.)I understand that this is a fairly niche set up. But I have to consider one thing only. The pair of cables were £30. The monitor switch was about £300. Both do pretty much exactly the same job as far as I'm concerned. They are also really nice quality, look pretty sleek, and unlike many cables they stay where they are put and don't tangle up at the first touch. So it's simple for me to recommend the cable.

It is worth it!
I wanted to have one cable for my business trips. (One cable for charging and the same one for monitor/television for presentations). I am using it with 5m USB-C 3.2 10Gbps cable with my 4K TV and it works well. Unfortunately, no famous brand like Sony or Blackmagic, but it looks and work fine.

Looks and feels high quality, but one very important issue
Review based on a purchase price of £11.87 in August 2021.I was looking for a cable to connect my Windows 10 laptop and Macbook Pro to my TV, and this is the least expensive one I could find on Amazon, so decided to take a chance on it. I like it a lot, but there is one important issue which I will talk about at the end of my review. So the things I like:1. Quality - The braid feels great and I didn't notice any errors in the construction. The heads feel like aluminium, and the black part under the head that connects the cable feels like hard plastic.2. Function - It works as intended and advertised. This cable is replacing another that doesn't go up to 4K 60hz, but as you can see in my last picture, this ran my Macbook Pro on my LG OLED in 4K 60hz. If you're looking for a cable that does 4K 120hz for Macs, I don't believe it exists yet. At least not at this price point.3. The USB C end plugs in solidly with little wiggle, unless you fiddle with it yourself.Important note: If your display is slightly zoomed when you use this, it's not a problem with this cable. Look up an issue called "overscan" in your search engine. There will be options in your graphics card configuration which will allow you to resize your image to fit the screen properly. Now what's this issue that bothers me then? Well, the HDMI side runs HOT, both on a TV and a monitor. I was surprised at how hot it felt after just 5 - 10 minutes. I tested the cable in a different HDMI socket, still got hot. Thinking this might be an issue with any HDMI heads, I turned on my PlayStation 5 (yes I have one you peasant) to see if that plastic HDMI head would heat up, but it didn't. Possibly an issue with just aluminium heads? I tried another aluminium headed cable that is USB C to display port, but that did not heat up.So, after my tests and a bit of searching around on the web, it seems like the issue is with USB C to HDMI cables. I've seen advice that it's better to use converter dongles than cables like this, as the conversion technology that happens in the head is what causes the heat.My issue is not with this cable in particular then, but the technology itself. If the idea of a connector getting very hot behind your TV/monitor bothers you, look for another solution. If this cable had some smart design that made it stay cool I'd have rated it a 5 star. But if you know what you're getting into and don't mind the heat, this cable is great value.

Great value HDMI to USB-C cable
I plugged this in and it worked first time. I originally bought a convertor for a HDMI cable to change to a USB-C connection which my monitor didn't like at all as it kept dropping out. This cable works a treat.

Got so hot and then crapped out.
Been using this for two days and all of a sudden my monitor goes to sleep. I check the connections and the HDMI connector on the cable is red hot, I mean I can barely touch it. No picture now, no signal, returning.
