Really work
Had continual issues with birds roosting on the back fence ready to go into the neighbours garden. We've got block paving (which cost a lot of money) and the droppings are relentless, especially in April /May during the breeding period.Used brown silicone on the tops of the fence and pressed the strips down. Simple to fit and have completely stopped the smaller birds and 90% of the biggest ones. The bigger ones have a go at roosting, but quickly realised that it's not a good idea. They may seem expensive for what they are, but they're cheap as chips when they do what's expected of them. Excellent product and well worth using. You may want to tell your neighbour that you're fitting them as it could look like you've fallen out with them .....

Immediate reduction in garden pests!
These are easy to install and work really well. They might feel a little weak but the idea is a pigeon etc can't sit on them so they need to move a bit to stop the bird landing. I used 3mm x 12mm screw which work fine, the holes won't allow for a screw bigger than 3mm. Great purchase and will be buying more when needed.

Work well, but be careful installing them
Easy to install, but broke a few spines, as they are quite brittle. They have kept the pigeons off our pergola, so they work well.

Stopped the Pigeons Pooping on the Decking!
Within 24 hours of our decking being laid and painted an ash/black, it started to look like a Dalmation - we've got a pergola over part of the decking and those pesky birds took great delight on depositing! The thought of having to add that cleaning job to the daily/weekly routine drove me to find a solution that was also kind to wildlife (even the pesky pigeons) - and Defender did the trick 100%. Very easy to install - ok the top of the pergola does look like a scene from a WWII beach but once some climbers grow up the a bit it will detract. The pigeons were not impressed and for some time gave us a right evil glare lol.

Work Well: Use Zip Ties
These are not the prettiest things, but they work, as my garden furniture is no longer covered in bird cr*p!I have used these on a metal pergola in my garden. I have found that glues and bonding silicon do not work well as a fixative on the structure, as it's more exposed to the wind and rain than a windowsill. So I would recommend using zip ties to fix the spikes if you can, or you will be re-fixing them as the glue/silicon stops working and they fall off.All in all not pretty to look at, but very effective and deterring birds, especially flying rats (pigeons).

Do the job
I bought a few boxes of these to put on me pergola.I've got table and chairs under there and don't want pigeons roosting and cr*pping on the furniture.I don't like the look of them. They are transparent but still really visible. But needs must. Never seen pigeons even trying to land there now. Did see a jackdaw once doing a weird balancing act but he didn't stay long enough to relieve himself.I suppose something small like a sparrow could sit comfortably between the spikes but I never saw one trying.Almost a year and, so far, no cr*p on me cushions. On a side-note. I've got grape vines growing. If you plan to have anything growing on your pergola then plan to keep it hooked and tied underneath the beams. if you let it grow over the top and around the spikes then the pigeons will just land on that.

Glisten in the moonlight.
These appear to have worked really well. The only downside is they are only a foot long. If they were 3ft strips I think installation would be faster.
