Good Choice
This product arrived ahead of schedule and well packaged. It was only when I took the final component out of the box that I noticed the plastic water bowl was broken. As the packaging itself showed no sign of damage, I can only assume it was already broken when it went into the box. I contacted the seller the next day, and the response was quick. I was promised a replacement dish immediately. Although I had to chase a second time, the young lady I spoke to advised the water dishes were sold separately and she would send me one in the post. She was most courteous and was trying her best to resolve the issue. I received a replacement dish yesterday. Unfortunately the 'Gardman water bowl' which I received, was too small for the holder. I suspect that the 'Kingfisher' kit I bought is sold as a package, and their water bowl is not sold as a separate item. I am sure that if I packed the whole thing up again and returned it, Garden Selections would replace it in its entirety. But to be honest, as it is sited next to a birdbath it's not a problem. In fact I was so pleased with the feeding station that I ordered a second one for another part of the garden. This too arrived ahead of the estimated date, and in perfect condition. It looks far superior to the tenner it cost. Oh - and the birds love them!!

OK for the price but some defects
This item came quickly and was easy to put together. It looked very good and we filled the two circular feeding/water trays that came with it. The birds seemed pleased with it but after half an hour the trays had fallen off. The ring holding the trays is a spiral which is supposed to wrap around the main stem and hold fast. Unfortunately it does not hold fast and despite fixing the trays back on a number of times they kept falling off. Eventually, I wrapped some duct tape around the spiral fixing and at the moment it appears to be holding although I will probably have to repeat this at various intervals. As I am unable to drive/walk any distance at the moment and the nearest post office to return is a mile away, I cannot return it. It will probably do the job with the running repairs I gave it . However, I shouldn't have had to do this in the first place.

Just what i wanted. I bought a second then a third one for spare parts when the price dropped
Looks well made and a good design.Easy to fit together it took less time to do that than the time it took to get it out of the box it was so well packaged. In some cases extra support would be needed to stop it toppling over especially if you put lots of heavy feeders on it but i have fastened one of mine to a young tree trunk for stability[with cable ties].The dishes are removable for easy cleaning away from the feeding area. A little vaseline on the raw edges of the poles may be helpful to prevent rust so it will last a bit longer[even the inside raw edges are likely to be affected due to condensation]. UPDATE :FIRST/BASE POLE HAS TO BE SUNK QUITE DEEP EVEN WITH LIGHT EVENLY SPACED FEEDERS IT COULD START TO LEAN WHEN WINDY. AN EXTRA SECTION OF POLE GIVES MINE A BETTER HEIGHT [I HAVE BOUGHT 3 OF THESE BIRD STATIONS NOW AS THE PRICE CAME DOWN] I HAVE ENOUGH POLE SECTIONS TO EXPERIMENT AND EXTRA DISHES WAY CHEAPER THAN BUYING INDIVIDUALLY.I HAVE ONLY USED ONE RING ON EACH FEEDING STATION WITHOUT THE TRAYS AS THE BIRDS WERE ONLY USING THEM AS PERCHES TO GET ON THE FEEDERS AND FOULING THE TRAYS BUT I USE THE TRAYS ON MY BIRD TABLES WHICH HELPS KEEP THE BIRD TABLES CLEANER.I HAVE THREE OF THESE FEEDING STATIONS NOW TO MAKE TWO DECENT HEIGHT FEEDING STATIONS AND SPARE PARTS. I HAVE USED SOME OF THE SPARE ARMS AND TRAY RINGS TO ATTACH TO TREES WITH SOME SUCCESS AND THEY CAN BE REPOSITIONED AS THE TREES GROW.

Well made but difficult to attach the arms without force
Out of the box, it looks easy to assemble with the instructions at hand. It is well made, the textured dark brown powder coating is top quality and all the items are there. Fitting the bung into the top part is easy and the other poles slide into each other. Looks good so far. Next up, poles taken apart ready for the fitting of the 3rd hanging feeder arm and the 2 arms for the water tray and seed tray. Now, am I missing something here - I found it incredibly difficult trying to angle and twist on the arms following the instructions and in the end I had to force them on that last bit where they just simply would not go any further. The coating scuffed and scratched but not to the point of exposing bare steel. Once on and further forced into the correct height on the poles, the arms are sturdy and the 2 trays fit in perfectly. Outside, the spiked pole went into the ground without the aid of a piece of wood and a lump hammer. It is sturdy, looks good, has withstood the recent stormy weather and the birds love it.

Inexpensive but does what you want
This was the least expensive feeding station I found anywhere, I didn't see the point of spending a lot more for something that's out in all the elements and will potentially need replacing within a few years however much is paid for it. It was easy to put together, and seems sturdy enough once I found a less soft area of soil to put it in! (It fell over twice after heavy rain made the soil very soft so I might need an attachment to stabilise it. Until then I've got heavy stones around the base to fortify it). I know the birds will need time to get used to it being there before they use it, but greedy pigeons and magpies have inevitably already found the food, so I hope it won't be long before the smaller more interesting birds find it too.
